| Need Advice on 4Lb baby girl! Molly just turned 1 and she hates to be cold. I took her out in the car the other day and it was in the high 40's and all she did was shake the whole time until the car was so hot I couldn't stand it.. She had on a fleece jacket too! Is this normal that they are cold all the time or have I made her into a big sissy? I don't do cold either and we keep our house pretty warm due it my health issues. Yesterday she slept wrapped up in a blanket all day and I was in shorts and bare footed. There isn't much to her so should I just keep her in a sweater all the time? I don't remember her being so cold last yr and this is my first dog .. Thanks for any advice you can give! Diana |

| Shivering does not necessarily mean they are cold. Some dogs do this if they are nervous especially in a car. If she really is that cold when she is in a warm place it might be good to have a thyroid test done to make sure she isn't hypothyroid |

| I wish I could give you some good advice, but I have the exact same problem. My little Bella (3.4lbs) has been doing the same thing once she gets outside or in the car (even when I have the heat set to 85!!!) . I just bought her two coats yesterday and some sweaters and I'm looking into a quality warm carrier (I'll probably hafter to put a heat pad or a hot water bottle in there with her) because we are going on a trip next week. Bella is also my first little girl (only 6 months). So I am also really intrested in any good advice. I know that I have low iron, so I am supposed to take a vitamin supplement; can yorkies have the same problem? Jen

| Shakes Bella shakes when I bring her in the car (winter or summer). I always tell her she is going to fall apart from shaking so hard. After a while she calms down.I don't think with her its because shes cold, I think its nerves. She also gets shaky when we are at home when shes scared or gets in trouble for peeing on the carpet. |

| cold I've been thinking about buying one of those infant fleece sleeper bags thats closed at the bottom... If they even still sell them. She stays in her seat so that might work. And I will have her thyroid checked next time we are at the vet. But if her thyroid is low wouldn't she have a weight problem just like her momma?*L* |

| I just googles warming pads for pets and tons of them came up. Maybe that would help the little ones stay warm.

| warming pad I found on line a warming pad that looks like a round disk you put in the micro and stays warm up to 12 hours so I think I'll go with that one for in her bed... I don't want to buy something you have to plug in.. |

| My Hope is 4 lbs also, and shakes when we get in the car when it is cold - I think it is from excitement and the cold. Maybe when your baby is a little older it will be better - Hope does stop shaking. Good luck! |

| I can tell you that my girls love going in the car, but they still both shake from nervousness/excitement. After a few minutes they both settle down. So, you little one could have been both cold and just a little nervous. Generally speaking, if you are cold and bundled up, your baby probably needs to be to. Sometimes, they just like to be snuggled up and under something regardless of the temperature!!!
