| A scary , incident with my puppy I do not know what happened , or how this started , however, my Suzi was terrified early this am. My son and I were gone for 7 hrs earlier in the day, and we got back, Suzi was very happy, playful, and excited.I gave her loads of attention and love. I played with her, and petted her her on the couch. then Later on in the night i was having trouble sleeping so i got back on the internet. It was a cold night, and i turned on the heat too. My Suzi was near me on the floor, and on her pillow, she typically stays close to me. She would stand up and i'd pet her , she did this A few times, and seemed content. However, I looked down, and saw her panting , i pick her up and she is shaking too. I have no idea what is wrong, and she was so scared. i thought, is she cold? what is up with my baby? She has never done this before, only when in the car, she gets like that. Not at home. I pick her up and take her to my room, wrap her up and just keep petting her, and tring to calm her down. Her panting really scared me, and shaking so much . It seemed like forever, but, she finally calmed down and we went to sleep. I woke up this morning and she was with me on my bed, jumping on my chest laying right on top of me. She was back to her usual happy self. But, what scared my Suzi? It scared me seeing her so frightened. She never showed any signs of illness , or anything. Just terribly frightend.

| Oh I'm glad Suzi is back to her normal self...I just don't know what could have happened...that is so scary!! All I know is our little babies are very sensitive little creatures... Glad she's doing better..if it keeps happening you might call your vet. Have her checked.

| Well, always has fresh, clean water to drink, and had not been vomiting or anything, so I don't think that was it, unless she had a fever. I am unsure what it was. Suzi is not a tiny yorkie either, so I can also rule out low blood sugar. I've only seen her bahave like that in the car, not at home. I am still thinking that she may have felt cold, or that I was not giving her attention. Which I did, but we were gone most of the day. Maybe that is what freaked her out? I do not know? I wish thse little guys could talk to us! Wouldn't that make things so much easier? (sigh)

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | And her poo was totally normal today? I was thinking a bit of gas/digestive cramps. Otherwise though, this happens once in a while w/ Marcel too (but not the panting) - he gets scared at night. Their noses are SO very sensitive so I always wonder if they smell something in the neighborhood that isn't right or sense something. We live in the desert, near some foothills and we know coyotes come into our area, so sometimes I think he is smelling them. Could it be anything like that?

| Panting can often (when there is no obvious reason) mean that the dog is in pain or discomfort.

It could have caused stomach upset for sure, correct? Damn, now I feel bad She liked them though, but, will eat anything i have, too and I try to be careful what she has, now I know it was a mistake ...... She is behaving well today, and bouncy , when friends come by. Poor Suzi must have had stomach cramps..... It is very quiet where we live, in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere... Although the weather has changed fast, it is mostly peaceful here . The pumpkin seeds were not poisions? God I hope not ..... She is okay though, and I'll have to never allow her to have any more.

| I hated to see my Suzi panting like that this am, and shaking so badly. Poor baby . I do believe it had to do with what she ate.
