| Please explain differences in belly bands Now that I've had some feedback from other owners of large dogs using belly bands, could someone please explain the differences between them, different shapes, elastic, etc? Which type is better? Pictures? Help

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey's belly bands are just a rectangular strip with Velcro on the ends to fasten it. You put a sanitary pad in it, so is should be larger than that. I've never had any problems with leakage, and they are mainly a way to tie the sanitary pad to the dog. They would be pretty easy to make, especially if you already have some cute fabric. Several of our members make some really cute ones. Sometimes they call them wee wraps. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ore-sites.html

| I prefer the ones without elastic, I always wonder if the elastic might not irritate their skins. But use an incontinent pad, not a feminine sanitary pad. Incontinent pads are design to absorb urine and can handle the odor better. I've always had good luck with the heavy duty, overnight ones. Cheap store brands work just as good as the name brand ones.

| I use the belly bands that come together with velcro. I have a Scottie 25 lbs who likes to hike even though he is fixed and I have a Yorkie, Manolo who wears his and he is 3 lbs. |

| Thank you! Thank you all so much! I'm going to get Quincy some belly bands asap. I'm sure it will reduce a lot of stress in my house.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The regular sanitary pads work well, if it's just marking, and a small dog, but you have to remove the belly band when you take them outside to pee; it's not meant to act as a diaper.
