| New To YorkieTalk Hi Everyone!! My name is Wendy and I just signed up to YorkieTalk. I wanted to just introduce myself and say hi to everyone. I found this forum while searching for answers and explanations about Pancreatitis. I have a 1 1/2 year old Yorkie name Kacey. She is a spoiled princess whom I love very much. She just went for her annual physical a couple weeks ago, got her shots (which had to be spilt into 2 different vet visits) 2 days after her rabies shot she vomited 3 times, I took her back to the vet in the morning where they did some blood tests and I got a call last night with the vet saying that she has pancreatitis. I'm a complete mess today and don't know what to do. Is there any way that her pancreas levels could have been elevated because of the rabies shot or her other shots in general? |

| Welcome to YT! I'm not sure about the answer to your question, but I'm thinking that maybe it could. You may want to post your question in the Health and Diet section or send a private message to YT Member Ellie May. She is so knowledgable about these things! I'm so sorry your baby isn't feeling well.

| Hi Wendy, I'm sorry that I really don't know the answer to your question. Did you ask your vet that question? I just wanted to tell you that my baby is a 1 1/2 yr. old and had a recent bout with pancreatitis. It was a very scary thing. My vet had her fast for 24 hrs.with her having only ice chips. She then went on a low fat food Science Diet WD. Eventually she was slowly introduced back to her regular food. She is on a low fat diet now and will always be as far as I know. You probably have been through all of this. What I want to tell you that my dog is still doing very well. I am very, very careful what I feed her now. I can blame myself for feeding her things that she shouldn't have had and I believe that made her ill. I hope Kacey is doing well now. I'd love to know how she is doing. I'll be thinking of you and Kacey. Carol & Calleigh
