| she looks like an old dog ..... I understand that the Yorkie puppy can have more tan or gray when the coat changes. However, ever since Suzi's first professional grooming the top of her head and ears are so grey . She has a bit of tan , on her face where it is suppose to be, and her back is still black, but underneath I see that it is ver light , and changing. My Suzi just does not have A whole lot of reddish tan like i have seen in some of the pictures of other Yorkies in here. Her coloring looks like A Yorkie, she is 8 months old and I know will change, I am still very facinated by the color differences in A yorkie. A man made a comment about Suzi as she was being groomed, abd thought she was an old Dog. I let him know that she is a pup still then he made a snide remark , saying that his dog was better. I told him That Suzi is A pure bred Yorkie pup , and the he told me he found his "mutt" on the street. When I read the yorkie coat colors , I believe that Suzi will eventually turn to the steel blue , after the gray ? And that the black coat she has will also change into the same color. Am I correct? I am learning and Suzi is my first baby, so bear with me. Thanks.

| I don't know what colour your puppy will end up but I just want to say I LOVE the silver colour that is coming out on my Littlest Mac. It's what I had requested from the outset with my breeder. I wanted a Silver/Tan combination upon maturity. I think the Silver colour is the best and that man is the worst!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | That grey might stay whitish or go the light blond. Toby looks like an old man too..he was the usual dark colors and then turned silver on his head now it's looking towards the lightening and the light blond. Only time shall tell. They change so much.

| If Suzi has a cotton coat, more than likely the black will stay black. If its a silky coat it should turn steel blue. At least that is what I have learned. My fletch has a silky coat and his back is a dark grey and his legs and head are a light tan.. but my Dex has a cotton coat and his head is deep tannish and black still, his back is still jet black and his legs are a reddish/tan color. He has no silver at all. Amazing how different they are. here are pics! 1. Fletcher 2. Dexter 3. Fletch on left, Dex on right 4. Dexter on inside, Fletch on outside (good pic of back colors)

| I think she's super cute. Her hair will change many times before she turns 2. As far as that guy, well I can't tell ya what I would have told him, cause I don't want to get the old banned. Some people just don't know if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all The nerve of that guy

| I'm sorry but if I understand correctly, what the man says sounds really dumb. Dogs that have grey hair are old dogs? Really? Is he really using human's standards for DOG HAIR? My Mocha will be 8 months on the 8th. She has loads of grey hair on her top knot. We think it's very adorable, but of course, we're biased. I haven't really tidied her up cos I'm planning to grow her coat a bit longer, so now she looks like a mess of colors.

| I'm loving watching all the color changes on Gracie Ruth. However, I really loved the phase were her body was coal black, her head was silver and her legs were blonde with frosted highlights. Her color seems to change every month and although still stunning, I really liked the contrast when she was black, silver and blonde. 1) 3 months old 2) 4 months old-Love the color of her legs. Blonde, black and silver mixed. 3) 5 months old 4) 7 months old

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Quote:
Their colors change so much for quite awhile....you should check out this thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...sion-pics.html. My favorite change is post #35 on page 3....now that's some changing!!! In the second pick it looked like he was going to be blue and tan, but he fooled you!! The third pic shows the change to the 4th pick....pretty much all golden. I think the all golden Yorkies are just BEAUTIFUL!!! Check out all the others so you can see what some progressions look like. Last edited by bellasmomok; 10-28-2008 at 09:49 AM. | |

| Pasquale is basically all white on his top knot. And everyone i know always comments on how cute it looks. I think that man just made that comment cause he's ugly inside and out and wouldnt be able to say a nice thing if he tried.
