| Could it be Reverse Sneezing or Collasped Treachea? Help! Zoe is 1 1/2 years old and has never experienced this until last week when she got sick. It's almost like she is choking. I took her to the vet and she has upper respiratory infection and was given two shots and amoxcillion. She has always been spunky and spicy but she just wants to sleep alot. If she plays she gets to coughing and also sometimes wakes up with this cough where her chest almost caves in. I took her back to the vet a couple of days later and of course she never coughed once there. They said she does not have kennel cough. She is eating and drinking. I don't what to make of it. Its got me worried. I want my spicy girl back!!! I think is reverse sneezing or collasped trachea as I read that an upper respiratory infection may bring out a collasped trachea even if they have never showed symptons of one. What do you thinK? I appreciate your help. |

| I would get a 2nd opinion. I dont know if its collapsed trachea or kennel cough but it sounds more serious than reverse sneezing. Mine do reverse sneezing and it is more when they get over excited

| Hi, I'm sorry about your baby. I don't know a lot about CT's but I hope someone else can offer better advice. Could you possibly see about getting an x-ray done? I think that is one of the things they can do to check for a CT. Like I said, I don't know a lot but I did want to suggest it. I hope your little one feels better soon.

| I totally agree Something may be going on that the vet is not catching, and if it is serious then the sooner it is found out , the better.

| Thank you, I am going to take her again tomorrow. However I called my sister in law in Arizona who is a vet and explained everything to her. She said to keep her on the antibotics, anithistamine, and the cough medicine may be keeping her drowsy. As far as a collasped trachea. There is an operation but most people just give them cough supressant or anthistamine. Depends on the severity. She suggested an ex ray. I should of called her sooner but, the least little thing comes up I call her. I am an alarmist when it comes to my babies. I didn't want to bother her again. She said anytime.Thought maybe some had encounted this. I thank you all for responding so quickly. |
