| Leaving Mya for the first time This weekend we are going camping. My husband has been trying to get me to go camping for 15 years. To cheer him up and because many of our friends are going, I agreed. I had a choice to bring Mya but 2 parties are planned and I was just too worried about, HEAT and people not seeing her at night and stepping on her. To combat heat while walking her at home, Mya had her first hair cut and I was mad at myself that I let my husband talk me in to "loosing her topknot" She looks like a little boy now *sulk* but she does not seem to mind. She has that puppy look again and in a way it is good because people kept saying she was getting so big and half of her was hair. I say this because I think people are more careful when they see how small she really is. I know my daughter is great with animals and has looked after our other dogs and pets before. She is 19 yrs old and very mature and responsable as well as an animal lover. She has saved and hand raised abandoned new born kittens and kept her chameleon alive for 9 months after 2 vets told her that she would be lucky if he lived another month. She has taken care of our other dog and cat for years while we were away Yet I am still worried. That leaving your baby for the first time feeling. I reminded her that Mya is like a one year old baby and that she can't leave her alone or not know what she is up to. I got the *eye roll *and the "yes Mother I know" ...hahahahah Mya is also over 6 months and has not gone in heat yet so I am worried it might happen when I am away. Her moods go from meek and mellow to so hyper you can hardly hold her. Just in this past week. I don't know if this a sign or not. She still likes to go shopping and is great being in her travel bag. If she is in the car and not in her travel bag she will cry to go in it. My Daughter's car does not have air conditioning and so I am a little worried about that. Mya is holding at 4lbs but has learned to jump up on the sofa and yesterday she went climbed up 3 stairs. She leaps off the sofa with out any problems but my thoughts were, why now??? When I am going away.......lol Ohhhh her new thing is to find Canadian Tire Money and chew it up. She does not chew up anything else. So I have warned my daughter that if she leaves money around expect to loose it. I will try not to phone home too often to check up on them. Maybe only .....3 times a day....Ok maybe only once a day.

| I know that feeling! I recently took a 3-day trip and had to leave Maddie for the first time. I also left her with my daughter who is capable and caring of Maddie, but I still worried and gave her all kinds of orders. LOL Everything went fine and I think one reason for that is my daughter's home is like Maddie's second home...she is comfortable there and has other puppies to play with! Try to relax and enjoy your camping trip. The hardest part will be walking away from Mya when you leave! Best wishes! |

| A big storm hit here while we were enjoying the sunshine on lake Erie. My daughter could not get to the dogs as all the local roads and hi-ways were flooded out. Tornados touched down about 40 miles from us. My son managed to get to the dogs but it was not safe to let them go out side. Poor Mya would of been blown away and our eldest dog Comic is afraid of thunder and lightning and was freaking out. I phoned home 8 times. Needless to say there was a lot pee stains to steam clean out of the carpets from Comic. At least they got fed which is what I was worried about. My daughter did make to the house late friday night. There were many small dogs at the camp grounds. I think I will take Mya with me next year. Our dog comic would not of liked it. Between being worried about kids and dogs we had a good time.
