| Just wanted to introduce ourselves My name is LeSean and my furbaby's name is Brooklyn. I got him from a private breeder here in NC last saturday. So far he seems to be adjusting pretty well with me and my fiance (i think we spoiled him already) Well my first (but definitely not last) question is: He came from the breeder eating Proplan puppy and Caesar puppy formulas. How good are the two foods? I know its probably a matter of opinion but there are a alot of overexperienced people on here with more firsthand knowledge than any website on the web that i know i could some honest and true advice. Thanks to all in advanced PS I will post pictures of Brooklyn as soon as possible |

| Hi there! Welcome to YT! A great website to check out foods is Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble. I don't know much if anything about Proplan but I do know that Ceasar's is not the best food. If you plan on sticking with kibble, most members on here suggest going with a super premium (5 or 6 star). Brands of choice around here are Candidae, Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul, and Wellness just to name a few. Other members feed raw or homecooked food. I personally feed Jamie Nature's Variety premade raw. Hopefully one of our nutrition guru's will be along shortly to give you more info.

| Welcome to our site, and congratulations to your new fur-baby. You can do a big search for food and find out, we also have a nutrition section in here, Cesar and proplan I don't think either is good, I know Cesar for sure.

I do worry about some of the other "premium" foods. You really have to know your ingredients and I see lots of stuff I wouldn't feed my babies. I would also worry about a food that had too high of protein levels (Royale Canin). IMO, Yorkies don't need really high protein levels, it stresses out their kidneys trying to filter levels that high. There are a few really quality foods out there, just do your research and look at ingredient labels. Good luck, Teresa Last edited by Teresamag; 10-23-2008 at 04:42 AM. | |

| Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome! I did some wandering around and came across a website about a food call Life's Abundanace. Anyone else think its as good as the website proclaims (healthypets.com) or should I look elsewhere? |
