| Love at First Sight? Hiya, As some of you know I have just got my little girl, a 16 week old Yorkie called Lexie (I think). Now, she is very sweet, such a contented little girl, very loving and friendly but I it wasn't like I knew she was 'my puppy' when I met her and I still feel a little unsure. Did anyone else feel this way when they first got their Yorkie? I feel so bad but I am just wondering if it's wrong that I feel this way. Should I be totally in love with her by now? Anybody else need time to adjust or am I just a bad Mummy?! Jess |

Well Jess, My baby was a real hand full. At first I was just absorbed with getting her settled in, and practical Mommie stuff, and no nonsense potty training and trying to watch her like a hawk to get her pee poo patterns down. Then there comes a time when they do that one thing. Oh it can be putting their little chin on our thigh and looking up at you like you hung the moon and the stars, or a kiss, or just looking so sweet when sleep. It will hit you, trust me.

| Oh my gosh, thank you so much girls, you've no idea how relieved I am to hear your words! I was so worried that I was wrong with what I was feeling, I felt so guilty! She is a lovely puppy, she really is, and I'm sure you're right, I just need a bit of settling in time myself! lol I was so excited about bringing her home, maybe I just wore myself out with it all! lol Jess |

| It is normal. It takes some time to get to know each other, warm up and build a relationship but once your there, your forever there.

| Don't worry Jess.. sometimes it takes time to bond..remember it all happened kinda fast you getting your baby..with all the excitement of the last few days it will take time for you both to settle down and get to know each other...don't forget..I had 7 weeks of staring at Pixie's picture and constantly dreaming about her..I was in love before I met her! LOL.. It won't be long before you couldn't imagine life without her!

| Well, considering I never thought I would have a dog. I was a little overwhelmed at first with minnie. My boys were all grown up and I forgot how hard it was being a mom to a little baby (minnie). Once, I got a routine with her. It was easy sailing. I honestly can't imagine our home without her. I can't wait to come home from work and see her.

YT 500 Club Member | When we got our baby, and she was pottying on the floor, I wondered if I had made a BIG mistake. Trying to be a puppy mom is hard, and these little babies are soooo cute, but they like to ruin all of your stuff! I sometimes had to just try to remember why I wanted a puppy.

| I remember when my second daughter was born, she was a preemie and didn't catch on to nursing, had apnea and was just so frail looking. I was so worried about her that it took me a while to relax and bond. But! Bond we did So, it even happens with human babies. With Abigail, (my 9 month old furbaby) I put my dep. on her BEFORE she was even born! Then I had to wait 20 days for her to be born and then 10 weeks to bring her home! I looked at the pictures every single day, visted her...I was so excited and full of anticipation. YES! I was in love. Then Daisy came along 9 days later...very suddenly. She was rehomed to us at 2 yrs old. I knew I loved her and wanted her to be safe and happy, but it took just a bit longer to feel that bond. Of course I think it did on her part too. Now we're all one big happy family! Just as you will be with your baby Congrats!!!!!

| It'll come give it time. Sometimes I think we are searching so hard for a bond or an instant love that we make it harder.
