| Eastern NC'S First Play Date YT Friends, Eastern NC Play Date this past Saturday was small but indeed exciting. Several other YT members who had planned to come could not make it, so Annadoodle and I made the decision to go ahead and meet and have others come at a later Play Date. So, it was the four of us, including Sophie and General Patton(who are brother and sister from the same litter), Annadoodle and myself. First, we went to Petsmart and spent some time re-acquainting with one another. Sophie is so cute! She seemed so loving. My General Patton (who is twice Sophie's size, I am jealous) was clearly not interested in interacting with Sophie. It was amazing because here at home he doesn't let Bella live in peace. So, General Patton did not take an interest at all, sleeping in the shopping cart, while Sophie was observing the nice gifts mommy was going to splurge on her. Then, we went to a Pet First Aid Kick Off with several local agencies there. We talked with a couple of the vendors, but managed to leave early due to the heat and humidity. Sophie was so sociable and loving, while Patton was antisocial. Several ladies were admiring at our pups, and General Patton was clearly irritated when they would try to pat his head. You would think he was an angel and at home he is something else. Seeing Sophie made me realize how much I want a compact little gal, and as many of you know I have been looking (and I think I have found a rather special one all the way out in Arizona, but I won't say more for fear I might be jinxing my good news). We took pics of General Patton and Sophie together. It was a lot of fun getting together!!Hopefully, soon we'll arrange for another Playdate when Zeus' Mom and NCYorkie can also come. And others are welcome! The more the merrier. Soon, I will post pics of our furbabies(my laptop is in repair, but I didn't want to wait any longer to post) . Talk soon

| Awww shoot! I'm flying to New Bern, NC on Saturday and coming back home on Tuesday. I'm going to my daughter's house to bring her a yorkie that we got from my breeder. I won't have Carter and Cooper with me but Sebastian will be with me.

| We are sorry we missed you by a week. Maybe next Play Date you and your daughter can come. Is your daughter also a YT member? Maybe she would like to join our Play Date. I am sure your daughter will be delighted with her pup!

| I fly on US Airways and use a sherpa carrier for the plane ride. Usually the max height for any of the airlines is 10" for a softside. As soon as you make your plane reservation, be sure to call the airline to book a reservation for the baby coming back home. If you show up at the airport without a reservation for the baby and the airline has met the maximum number of pets for that flight, they will probably decline entry for the pup. Also check to find out what the one-way price is for a carry-on pet. US Airways is $100, Delta is $50. I've had awful experiences with Delta going in and out of North Carolina and will NEVER fly them there again! We're talking over 16 hour delay in the airport and being bussed 2 1/2 hours away to another airport only to have another flight cancelled! All of this WITH a yorkie in tow!! Plan carefully. Lisa

| Hot-Humid- But tons of fun!!! Quote:
Sophie and I had such fun with you and General Patton. Never knew rolling through Pet Smart with two yorkies in a cart could be such fun! Both Patton and Sophie have grown..but then its almost been a few months.. We certainly enjoyed the cool store..because the heat outside at the Red Cross Pet First Aid set up was so humid... It was nice seeing other dogs...even if they were HUGE! LOL I enjoyed speaking to the Kennel Club and seeing some of the local Dog show pictures too. Patton is a sweetheart...very laidback...We love him! Hope our next one will be when the weather is cooler..I'm thinking Fall...lol

| Carter's Mom, I don't know which airline I will be using. I am leaning on America West because I am considering on going to AZ and returning to NC on the same day. And America West(even though I have seen a negative experience by another YT member) is the only airline with a non-stop going to Arizona and returning to NC. So, in this sense it is the best for us. I've checked the cost on the America West webpage and this will be $80.00 one way which is all I'll need coming from AZ. This will be a long day for me, and I am still reviewing all options. I will check the carrier you mention. I am getting so excited about getting a female yorkie pup! If you have any other thoughts, just let me know. Thanks

| NC Playdate, Part II Yorkie Talk Friends, Several weeks ago I posted about our first NC Eastern Playdate, but due to my laptop breaking down, I had been unable to post these pics. The first one is Sophie(Annadoodle's little girl) and General Patton(my little boy) getting acquainted . Sophie and Patton are brother and sister from the same litter. They look alike in some ways, and very different in other ways. The second picture is Melissa holding both children and the third is myself trying to keep it cool with the humidity of the hot day, along with our children. I have another set of pics but will post separately. Hope you enjoy! We had a great time and are looking forward to getting another Playdate in gear as soon as it cools a little.
