| OH, the joy of grooming! LOL Well i have one of those wire brushes and a little comb that i use on scarlet at least every other night. I definately try to stay on top of the whole grooming thing. Notice I say try! Scarlet absolutely hates it when i brush her. She makes a schreeching noise and almost like a yelping noise. She acts like im hurting her or something and I go really slow and am super carefull to make sure I dont pull her hair. When i took her to the groomers a couple of weeks ago she used the same kind of brush and said that it wont hurt her. But im confused, am i really hurting her or is she simply distraught and want her own way? Im wondering do any of your dogs do this and what would you suggest i do. Do you think that she will ever get to the point that she will like me beautifying her. LOL |

| Shes a drama queen like my Dexter. I am sooo gentle with him but he schreeches and yelps and goes nuts whenever I pull the brush out. He just hates it and hopes his noises will make me stop! Keep on going though, as long as you really are not hurting her and she'll get used to it! I don't brush my dex much.... when he gets matted I take him to get groomed. I just can't handle it! haha

| I brush Gus daily, whether he needs brushing or not. Actually, I think he needs daily brushing. Unfortunately, I have to let him chew on my hand during much of the brushing. I thought he outgrow this behavior, but so far not. |

| When Daizy was younger you'd think I was killing her brushing her hair. She was a serious drama queen!! LOL Then I guess one day she realized mom's going to brush her no matter what..and so she just learned to stand there and be quiet...LOL Keep working with her..eventually she realize its going to happen...no matter what and eventually I think she'll surrender to the experience! I always give Daizy a treat afterwards tho, just so we never end the grooming on a bad note! lol So now she just sits waiting patiently for her little treat after each brushing!

| Every other Day? Gee, Every other Day? I wish I could get away with that. All 3 of my Yorkies have long Hair. I brush them at least twice a day, sometimes 3 times. The first time in the morning while I'm watching TV. on the Couch w/them, I also pet/massage them. Right before we leave I put them on their Grooming Table and wash out their eyes w/a wet wash cloth and then I brush their Teeth, braid Artie and Pom Pom's Tails and put up Artie's Topknot. The 2nd time is right before Bedtime while we're laying in Bed. My point is I do it @ in the same Routine every day and I do it in a very relaxed way, maybe your Baby is picking up on your Anxiety about brushing? Just remember every form of resistance is a Test to see just how much you will let him get away with? Yorkies will test/challenge you all the time! They pick up on your Energy and read you like a Book. When I had a Litter of 3 puppies 2 yrs. ago, I made sure that I brushed/groomed them so by the time they went into their new Homes they were already Crate Trained and House broken and used to a full Grooming routine. Keep working with him, he will eventually get used to it and accept it. You have to Train him. |
