| I'm nervous My Yorkies are 4 years old and 8 months old. Naturally, the puppy is still puppy and doing puppy things. He loves to play with Gracie, but he's gotten so rough that she's not much interested anymore. SO, now they are fighting! I mean to tell you, I have to scream at them to STOP! Most of the time they stop, thank goodness, because I would be taking my life in my hands to get inbetween them. They fight over toys (just like kids!), but even if I buy two of the same thing, it makes no difference and they still fight. Does anyone know what I can do to get them to stop having dog fights in my house? I've tried squirting water on them, but I don't carry a water bottle around with me into every room........ARG |

| I have the same issues with my two! We have a soccer ball issue, there could be 50 and only 1 is the great one! I have started using the water bottle for Simon and shaking a can of pennies with Hallie. They have gotten into fights but they always end it and neither of them has been hurt (thank goodness). I hope your 2 start getting along soon, it is an adjustment and I've noticed that SImon and Hallie go through moods like people. Good Luck |

| My 2 fight all the time too. I wish they would love each other & snuggle up all the time - but it's just not the case. I think we just have to let them get it out of their systems (as long as they're not hurting each other). I hate it, but I'm not sure what else to do...

| Me too! I wish they would snuggle and love each other but they are just too feisty sometimes! If I figure out a way to fix it I'll let you know! |

We always joke that when we go to work, they're like - Phew finally we can relax! Wanna snuggle??? And then when they hear us coming home they're like - Quick!! Start wrestling!!!

| At least my two aren't totally out of the ordinary. I mean to tell ya, they really go at it and I'm afraid one of them will get hurt. They are so into it and wrestling around I can't tell which one started it...maybe it's the one on top? It seems whenever they get into a good one, my water bottle is in the other room. SURELY, they wouldn't bring blood.....would they? |

| I never thought about it but yea they probably do love up on each other all day and then when I get home go crazy They are in the same excercise pen and I've never had a problem, what munchkins! Simon and Hallie have never had an intentional injury. I had a trainer tell me that they will argue but will stop before it gets too far and I've found that to always be the case. I can never tell who starts it with my 2 either. My guess is Hallie but Simon is always the one on top with her pinned to the ground. I only get scared when I hear them screaming at each other which isn't often, most of the time they are playing/wrestling. |

| I can never tell who started it either. They're pretty evenly matched, so I don't think one is bullying the other. They have never injured each other & usually if one screams like they're hurt the other will back off right away (probably because they know they're in trouble!)

| We have that problem too. Gracie, Yorkie, is one year old and Sampson, maltese, is 6 months old. When we first got Sammie, Gracie beat him up all the time. Now Sampson is the same size as Gracie and kicks her butt on a daily basis. Our trainer told us that as long as there is no blood, to let them work it out. They really go at eachother, but we watch them carefully and can see signs of play during the fighting - so it could just be very rough play. One can hope...

| Oh, this isn't playing, for sure. They growl and screech at each other. Maybe I ought to let them at it once till they stop on their own. I'm not kidding, they're so loud you'd think it was two Great Danes in battle. Maybe if one did hurt the other, that would put a stop to it. When we first got Avery he was three months old and they would play and give out a little playful growl, but boy, it's not like that now!!!! |

| If I am sure it is fighting, most of the time it's just loud playing, I put them in time out in their kennels and close the door. Normally their doors are open until bedtime. If they behave when I let them out I give them a treat. If I know which one started it, that's the one that goes into timeout and I play with the other one, ignore the naughty girl and then give a treat if she stops. It works, one hates to watch the other get attention. Usually timeout is a minute or two. |

| !!! Oh my goodness, I NEVER thought about giving them a timeout!! What a terrific idea! I'll try that today, because it happens every day and sometimes twice a day! I just want it to stop! |
