Default A re-homing story

Millie is a seven month old yorkie that was the light of her owner's eye. Her owner, however, is a college student and was spending less and less time with this adorable little girl. College girl decided that the best thing for little Millie, if not for herself, would be to rehome her. She ran an ad in the paper where a co-worker of mine saw it and decided she was going to purchase Millie. Coworker had had a yorkie as a childhood pet and loves the breed. Her parents also owned yorkies and told her that if it didn't work out at her house they would take Millie.
Millie came home on a Saturday night and proceeded to wind her way into everyone's heart. My co-worker is just thrilled with her and come in with stories every day! "You should see Millie in the bathtub!" "Millie was running all over the house at top speed last night" "Millie sticks her tongue out - it is so cute!"

So you see there are happy endings to rehoming stories and Millie is happier than she has ever been. Her owner was right to do what was best for her.

very touching story...no one should judge another person for rehoming their pet...it takes a much bigger person to be able to rehome a pet when in need...thanks for sharing

What a wonderful story! I agree that it takes a special person to be willing to re-home their pet. It must be so difficult to let go of these precious little babies. I'm so happy this story had such a happy ending!

What a responsible decision on college girl's part.

Glad she found such a good home!

I just love hearing stories like that. Bless that college gal for having the sense to do what is right for her baby. I'm sure she misses her terribly. Hug her for all of us

That is the exact point I was trying to make and I am glad so many of you agree. Millie was treated very well by her first owner and loved very much. She has quite a personality as a result. Her new home is a GREAT home.

My german shepherd was given up because his ears didn't stand up and his first owner thought he looked like a mutt instead of a purebred. Now THAT is a sorry excuse of a person in my mind. But this college student considered all of the facts and even though it hurt like the dickens she was looking out for that puppy. Three cheers for her logical thinking!

By the way, Ivan is a wonderful dog and he loves the little ones soooo much. I think he would die protecting them. You can see in my avatar how gentle he is. That is a picture of him and Adie when she was a wee little girl.
