| Yorkie shedding My puppy is shedding her hair...I know some shedding is normal and hers doesn't seem to be excessive but I didn't think yorkies shed much...what can I do to stop it?

| Nothing. Just brush her frequently. Their hair comes out just like ours does.

| She is probably just shedding her "puppy coat".

| How old is your yorkie? Does she only lose hair when you brush her or are you finding her hair around the house? My Tinkerbell is 4.5 months and seems to lose a lot of hair when I brush her. I am not sure if she is losing her puppy coat or if she is just losing hair as I comb through the little mats that she gets from playing with my Maltese. Wendi and Tinker |

| My yorkie is almost 6 years, and she sheds terribly..you don't notice it when holding her, but, I keep yanking it out of our vent return, and also when she gets a bath, there is hair all over in the tub when I get her out..? |

| Browniesmom, No hair in the brush? Not even as a puppy? I use a comb and there is always hair in it when I am done. I hope it's just from the little puppy hair mats that I have to brush through. |

| Tricksie has never shedded but the brush or comb is full of hair and I do it everyday. Her coat is nice and thick.

YT 1000 Club Member | Roxie's coat isn't that thick. I never see hair anywhere but in the brush. It takes a long time before I even have to clean the hair out of the brush. Could be the puppy coat but I'd moniter it and make sure it's not too excessive. Could have something to do with diet but maybe not. Just something to think about and watch for. |
