Yorkie Lover Donating Member | New Addition We are the proud parents of a new 8 week old little girl....we picked her up the other day from a breeder in the local area...her name is Sailor and she is the cutest thing in the world....she is even smaller than our first yorkie... Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help our 4 month old get used to the new baby?...we have been trying really hard to show her just as much attention as not to get her jealous but there are times where she will accidents just to get attention from us...also when they are playing our older one, Magic, tends to get too rough with Sailor....is there anything we can do to make this process easier for Magic? Any suggestions would be great!!!! We will try to post some pictures of them together soon....

| Congrats on the new addition. If there is enough people in your family to give both attention separately, perhaps they can each get their own family member for attention and fun, then at times have them play together and watch them while they interact. Magic just needs to know that her parents still love her and that while some things will change in her life, she's gaining a new buddy and not losing anything. |

| Congratulations on your new puppy. Sailor is such a cute name. Maddie was 9 months old when I got Rudy and I think she thought she was his mother. Magic will come around. I would alway hold Maddie when I gave Rudy any attention. Maddie is real laid back but Rudy is very strong willed. Rudy is 14 months old now and him and I are still fighting over the alpha position. My two have such different personalities but, that may be why the get along so well. Sailor and Magic will be best of bubbies before you know it. Where did you find your breeder?......................Cibdt |

| i would never get another puppy until the older dog was at least a year old... this is just my personal prefrence because i wont have to deal with two puppy puppies at the same time, the older one can "mother" the yonger one, and i wouldnt want them to get too attached to each other like they are littermates and leave me out of the "inner circle" ... again this is just my personal preference and i honestly dont think i will ever have two dogs at one time again (even if i did have teh opportunity)...... too much to deal with at one time with two dogs with everything else in my life |
