| Vet Record Flagged I took Gus to the vet. After the vet examined Gus, she was paging through his record. Gus was on the examining table between us. The vet appeared to jump back. She then pointed to a stamp - MUZZLE - on one of the pages. When Gus went for neutering, a month prior to the current visit, I was told that he tried to bite the technician. Hence the mark in his record. He never tried to bite anyone in the vet's office before the neutering day, and never after. He must have sensed, likely by my feelings, what was going to happen. I even had trouble controlling him, he was struggling to escape, as I was preparing to hand him to the tech. An isolated incident, with good reason, yet an indelible mark in his record. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Elaine's dermatology record was flagged, and she couldn't get treatmen. All went well with the neutering, and I felt so good when the tech handed him back to me later in the day. He was calm, and sleepy. Worst part, after, was the E-collar. Anyway, a month later, and he is back to normal, but I still feel for his ordeal. |

| *giggle* that totally is the Seinfeld episode. First thing I thought of. Maybe with his continued GOOD behaviour they'll see it was an isolated thing and it can be removed..unlike Elaine.

| Aw, poor baby, it's on his "permanent record" Hopefully they'll all see that he's a sweetie except for when they are going to remove his marbles

| One of my Yorkies had the opinion: If you hurt me, I will hurt you. When the vet tried to draw blood for a test on her very first trip to the vet, she bit me and him. He was very concerned - said I could sue him because he is supposed to be in control of the dog in the examining room. I just laughed and asked if he got hurt. He also said that was the first time an owner asked if HE got hurt. She was a rescue, so I had no way of knowing she would react that way. They put a mark on her record from then on that she was vicious or aggressive. I reminded them every time we went in and a needle was going to be used, that she might try to bite. I would put her in a headlock or I would hold a squirt bottle in front of her face - telling her "no bite, no bite". We never had another problem. Flash forward 10 years, she no longer has many teeth and again the computer screen flashes "AGGRESSIVE DOG". I shook my head and said "C'mom - she doesn't even have teeth anymore - take that thing off her record!" We had to have her euthanized in May this year. She was a character! |

| Well my sister has a killer cat that packs a record that he will go after anyone at the vets office. Drugged for any and all work done on him. At home he is a champ of a mild mannered boy. My thought is this that although it it not fair it does keep them aware to play safe and nice with your boy and think before they move. I have one we muzzle at the vets not cause it ever contected it just they are a clueless bunch of fools that will set it up to bite and then it pays. If I in the room I hald the dog if it leaves with anyone it in amuzzle the one time it came back without it on. A blast was heard around the vets office for thier lack of care and concern for the safe keeping of the dog. JL

| I'm just wondering why they never told you about the incident a month ago when it happened with the tech? As a parent Id like to know if my little boy is being muzzled.

| I've been told many time that playing aggressive with them can make them bite. We play very hard which has at times caused me to get nipped or punctured by his canines, but he has never, never shown any thing at the vets. The techs know how to hold him and he is giving kisses while getting his shots! Sure hate to see that on a record like that, but then again if there is a novice technician maybe it makes them a bit more aware of how they handle the baby. |

| Chip got vicious with our vet once. Adam was sitting on the benches in the waiting room and Chip was sitting beside him. The vet went to pick Chip up and he backed into a corner snarling and growling. He was sick then too. The vet laughed and said that he was at fault because he back Chip into the corner.
