I used to be a groomer's assistant, and we were always told that you should bathe your dog maybe every 2 weeks. I wouldnt do it every week since it will dry out their skin

| Well, I started out giving Lucky a bath once a week but lately I have been doing it about every week and a half. If he needs it I will give it earlier. He is ok until he goes in the garage with daddy and helps him work on something.

| Each Yorkie being individual, I think you can bathe them when they need it and as long as you have them on good food and use a good shampoo & conditioner and rinse well that once a week is ok. Gracie needs weekly baths right now, she gets into everything. Boo can go 2 sometimes 3 weeks.

| Mocha gets once a week to once in every 5 days. It's the pee She pees very messily, and I haven't been able to snip all the hair surrounding her, er, ladies' equipment Also she gets very dirty on walks. Jakarta is a dusty place, and when Mocha gets tired she just sits down wherever. I took my dogs to the mountains for almost a week,, walks everyday, and they didn't get as dirty as a walk in the city |

| Bella gets a bath about every 2 weeks (now that she doesn't go outside that often because its already cold here in Ohio), but during the summer when she played outside everday I gave her baths every week. I use a lot of skin conditioning sprays on her between baths to make sure that she doesn't dry out and keep her baby powder fresh.lol. I also put a heavy conditioner on her each time she gets a bath and I make sure that she is rinsed VERY VERY VERY well. And I have yet to have any problems with her drying out.

| I started out with bathing Cash every week. Someone told me to never use a conditioner on a dog and if I could find that person now, I would give them a piece of my mind (Cash's coat was hideous and I had to cut it off!). I now use a conditioner and a supplement for show dogs and his coat is great now. I still give him a bath once a week (actually gave him a bath today) since he is a messy little guy. His coat and skin isn't dry and he looks great now. I now they say not to use a human shampoo or conditioner, but I do. I use Johnson & Johnsons baby shampoo with eucalyptus oil (for the fleas) and Pantene's Smooth and Silky conditioner. He looks great now!!

| i think the most important thing with bathing is to remember not to scrub and scrub, just get it into the hair and realllllly realllly rinse it out. some use conditioner some people dont. I have bathed my pup once a week to once every five days, hes a puppy and im trying to get him used to it so he's not scared of it later and he already loves baths!! ha but yeah i dont think there is an exact rule just really rinse and dont irritate their skin by rubbing and scrubbing and also make sure you are feeding them a really good food! (most dogs with sensitive or dry skin are just not reacting well to their food and need it changed.) Cassie and Sumo |
