| What Would You Do? Tomorrow, we're going to the Pumpkin Festival in a nearby town. I've never been before but I have been to many other things in different towns that were similar. It's basically just crafts (why we're going, I LOVE crafts!), food, entertainment, contests, karaoke, car shows, tractor shows... just bunches of fun stuff. The problem? We want to take Lilly. I want to get her out and get more socialization and I already would have... she just gets SO hyper! When she's on her leash she basically just runs ahead of whoever has the leash and hops about. As in... she looks like a Yorkie on crack, gets up on her back legs and hops wanting us to walk faster. Besides that, whenever anyone comes up and talks to us or any type of people are nearby she gets SO excited she can barely contain herself and we do good ourselves to control her . There are going to be quite a few people, I'm sure. I assume it's from not being out and about a lot which is my fault, I know. Should we take her with us anyway and hope for the best? Any advice? Thanks for any opinions and advice!

| Well you can always pick her up if she gets to be too much to handle. |

| I took Pasquale to a fair a couple weeks ago and i didnt let him walk on the ground..i basically carried him in my arms. People usually arent paying attention to where they are walking at those things and i didnt want him to get stepped on, so i carried him. Needless to say he got TONS of attention . It was cute at first..but after a while...it got annoying. I say weigh the pro and cons and then decide.

| OH TWALLA, I didn't even think of that. I always see them in the stores or on here and think they're so cute but always say "...I'll never use one of those". It would come in handy now I'll most likely carry her the majority of the time... mostly because well, I don't trust people at all. I think I'm going to just go for it and take her... I know it'll make her day, she loves going bye bye!

| I agree you should take her and carry her most of the time.. but I will also agree that you need to get a stroller. It will become your best friend! You will have more control over where she is.. people trying to pick her up and not have to worry about other dogs.. AND you also have somewhere to store all the treasures you buy!

| I'm going to a Petfest this afternoon with my therapy dog, Cosmo. He's a 12-pound Bichon Frise. I will let him walk some, but will pick him up if it gets crowded. There will also be other animals/dogs there and I won't allow another dog to just walk up to him. I have a stroller and it is great in situations like this. I won't take it out of the car at first, but if it gets crowded, I'll get it out, put Cosmo in it and control who comes up to him and touches him. He's a therapy dog and used to being petted and hugged, etc., and he loves it, but I'm particular about other animals coming up to him. Everyone can pet him and that's fine, but I want to be in control for his safety. |

Are you going to the Milton Pumpkin Festival? It is awesome. I went 2 times last year. Crafts are cheap and lots of free samples. The pumpkin candy is so good.

| It was these type of events that prompted us to get our stroller and it really comes in handy!

| We went with such great success! Mommy & daddy didn't give Lillybug enough credit . She was wonderful! At first she got excited when she saw how many people there were... after we got her out of the car and headed down to all the action, she was such an angel! She just kept trying to sniff or lick every person that went by and there were tons, it was so crowded. There were several people who came up to us but always asked first if they could pet her! It was such a good day, I'm amazed. So many people "aw, look at the little doggy in her costume". Haha, she was living it up getting tons of attention! A stroller is def. still in our "to buy" list. Oh and I carried her the whole time, it was way too crowded to let her walk... plus I'm a huge worry wart. There were huge dogs too so carrying her was probably the best route! Thanks YTers!!

But if you want to get her used to being in crowds, do what you think best. But watch out for her safety, and have fun!
