| humping and shes a girl I had posted about this a long time ago when Callie was a lot younger well now shes doing it again! When we go to bed my grandma lays in bed with me and we talk for a while and eventualy she leaves and goes to her bed but all of a sudden Callie is humping us like in a frenzy if we pick her up to move her she keeps going if we squirt her with the water and say no she keeps going its like she cant stop and she starts breathing heavy and I donno what to do! Why is she doing this? Is there a way to make her stop? She gets very chewy before she starts humping and she 13 pounds so u can deffinitly feel her there her paws digging into u and stuff Im really going crazy with this. Any help is greatly needed and I am very thankful for it.

Another suggestion, is you need to establish dominance with her, she isn't respecting you. One of the ways to do this is to ask her to sit before you place her food bowl down. Have her sit, and stay before you put the food down. Once you set the food down, have her stay a couple of seconds before you give the release command. If she goes for the food before the command is given, pick up the bow, and keep repeating this until she stays for a few seconds. Each time you feed her do this, this will help teach her that you are to be respected.

| Nancy has some great advice for you, I recommend that. Naboo's hump toy is goofy and Squeekie's hump toy is Naboo's neck. So I think its normal but I agree that they should never hump you. |

I agree correct this behavior immediately, it is not sexual, it is not funny, it is a sign that the dog feels you are inferior, and it is BAD behavior Start doing things to let the dog know that you are in charge. Walk towards them and make them back up, make them sit before you feed thm, eat in front of them and don't let them have any. And don't give them toys to hump. this is like any other bad behavior, it needs to be corrected.

This might seem minor to you, because they are so little, but imagine if you had a great Dane would you allow it to hump your sofa?

I knew there was a reason I wanted a yorkie instead of a Great Dane.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I would feel more confortable if you said she tries to do it again. It's almost like you are allowing her to do it a little. A firm no with a slight push. You are so much bigger, there should be no problem with this. You continue to say no, and don't give in at all, and or remove yourself from the bed. You have to be more determined than her.

| In my situation I KNOW its a dominance thing... Roxi has NEVER tried to hump me (she knows better!!) HOWEVER recently she has started to try and hump Rocco (we have had him about 5 months now)... Total dominance thing.. He is 8 mo. and we are waiting for him to get bigger before he is neutered, but I think after few months of Rocco "trying" to hump Roxi, she has equated this to "control", and now tries to hump him... When I see this, I stop the behavior IMMEDIATELY. If she tries to continue, I put her on her back (not aggressively) and hold her for a few seconds to show her who is REALLY in control.. It has gotten better in the last several weeks. I would under NO circumstance let either of my dogs hump me for even a second... I know it may seem funny, but to them it means much more than a giggle and you can't let them get away with thinking THEY are in control... YOU are! YOU are the "leader of the pack"!!! Good luck.....

| I had a pomeranian that did this when she was 5 or 6 years old. The vet said that spaying her would do the trick. That is what we did and she never had that issue again. He said it had to do with her having too much testosterone... Who knows? |
