I got the you-know-what scared out of me this morning! I had a major freakout this morning. I got home from doing some work at my boss' house. I walked in and saw my roommate's mom (she's in town visiting) in the living room with the backyard door open and alfie's crate opened. I assumed he was outside playing or whatever. I went outside and he wasn't there. I looked all over the apartment, was calling his name and he wouldn't come. He always comes when I call him. I was freaking out at this point. There was no way he could have escaped the backyard. My roommate's mom said he was just inside 10 minutes ago playing with the cat. I thought he maybe did find a way to escape the backyard although to my eyes there is no way he could have. I opened the front door to the apartment and he was right there waiting. I walked by him when I came inside and closed the door with him outside. He's so little that I've walked past him without realizing it before. I cannot believe he stayed at the front door that entire time. He easily could have ran off. I was of course so relieved. I couldn't let him out of my arms. I'm going to train him to stay at the door when someone comes in or goes out so this doesn't happen again. I don't want to face another scary situation like this again!

Karren- I'm surprised he stayed. I think since I kept calling his name is maybe why he stayed put. Being a puppy, you would think curiosity would get the best of him and he would want to wander around our huge apartment complex.:-p

Thank you! I am glad too! I've learned to always look down when I walk in the door now. I know I got lucky this time.
