| Doggy Day Care Does anyone bring their baby to day care? I just found a place not too far from me recently and brought Deegan for an interview on Monday. They accepted him and I brought him on Tuesday. I plan to bring him 1-2 days per week depending on my schedule & budget. I like the thought of it because I hibernate alot once it starts getting cold out and thought this would be a good way to stimulate & break the boring routine of him playing at home with us since he won't be out walking or at the dog park much. They divide the big & little dogs up, but Deegan's a go, go, go type of dog and he seems like he wants to play with the big dogs, but I can't let him with all the potential of him getting hurt. He plays a bit with the little dogs in his section, but spends alot of time watching and barking at the big dogs and I feel like I'm a meanie mom for not letting him, even though it's for his own good. This was only his first day and it was apparently a slow day with only 3 small dogs in his section. I feel like he didn't have that great of a time - but hopefully on a busier day there will be more dogs to play with, with his energy level. So anyways, I just wanted to hear about your experiences with day care. Do tell...

| I work nights and I can't find a late night doggy day care. I would use one if it was available for evenings around here.

| Layla only goes to a babysitter with 2 other dogs. But you are right, the socalization is GREAT for them... i love how you are worried he didn't have a good time... he probably had a GREAT time. It is essential that he stays in the small dog area... all it takes is for one big dog to mistake him for something OTHER than a dog and it would be a horrible situation. He is really lucky that you are able to bring him there a few times a week. I think it is a superb idea! |

| I think it'll be great for him to just get out and socialize. It's important though that you feel comfortable leaving him there. I also had that thought recently too since it'll get colder out and I wouldn't want to have my little one in the cold. If there was one that I like near me, I would do the same.

| We are a big fan of daycare. Rory goes every day during the work week. She's a much happier dog because of it! She'll actually start crying as we approach the daycare (it's uphill) because she is so excited to be there. When we arrive, she runs behind the desk to say hello to the girl up front and then straight to the back. No time to even say bye to Mom or Dad. We actually took video of her coming/going on her birthday. I apologize in advance if you get motion sickness. They also divide the dogs up by size. They have big dogs (usually two groups), small/medium, and the minis. Even as a teapot Rory is a mini. She has made some great friends - and I like to know that if I ever had to board her she would be very comfortable here. We also held her Alice in Wonderland birthday party at the daycare, and it was great! Hopefully your daycare will have more dogs next time and Deegan will have a great time! I forgot to add that they have indoor and outdoor yards (real grass! only one in Atlanta) so they dogs are never outside in extreme temperatures for longer than a bathroom break. Also, I forgot to add they have webcams so I can watch her all day long at work.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | How cute is that...just like you said she can't wait to get in and acts like she doesn't care if she leaves I know that makes you feel good to know she is enjoying herself! I would probably be stalking her cute self all day on the web cam, though Amy |

| Deegan will love it! He just needs a couple more days to get used to it probably. I just recently looked into daycare because I'm not allowed to take Mia to work anymore. There is a doggy day care right down the street BUT its SO expensive!! $17 a day. Any the only other drawback is her required to have the bordatella shot, which I've heard mixed reviews about.

As for the cost of the day it's $23.10 (taxes are included) daily, which I thought was kinda expensive too considering there's one out by my dad's house that costs $10 per day - but he lives 20 minutes away from me. The one Deegan goes to is nice & super clean with friendly workers, but it's in the opposite direction of my work. So between the cost and the matter of it being a little out of my direction to work I only take him a couple times a week, which isn't bad because my boyfriend works afternoons and is home with him until about 2:30pm anyways when he's not at day care so it's not like he's home by himself for long anyways.

I guess what they consider the interview is the temperament test, which is basically conducted during a half day of daycare where the dog is observed with other people/handlers, and then the dog play group according to size. Assuming your dog passes, it is then welcome at daycare anytime. There are definitely no aggressive dogs that are allowed to attend.

I take her to puppy socials, but she always gets so scared after about 30 min.. (she gets really excited to be there at first, but when the dogs start playing, she gets nervous, and runs and hide between my legs the entire time) I am trying to find a place that only have really small dogs to take her. (like under 3lbs.) because i think she is less afraid around the little ones. (i think, since she is under 3 lbs herself) | |

| Buttons goes to Fit N Furry one or two days a week. He's been going alot during the remodel. They have 70,000 sf of indoor room even a groomer. They take cats, dogs, birds. It is kind of expensive but he really loves it and it's much better than being home alone when I can't bring him to work. And the best part is I can look online and see what he is doing. Check it out. Petaluma Dog Boarding, Kennels & Day Care - Fit n Furry Clelia
