| need advice Last year we bought a choc. teapot male yorkie from Robbie Harris in La Harbra Heights, CA. I do admit we did not do the research. Some may say that this was an impulse buy. I do believe Chunk is meant to be with us. He had been a joy and huge blessing in our lifes as well as his 2 sisters, Gertie, a pom-chi, and Molly, a bassett hound. At 9 mos, Chunk was diagnosed with Retinal Degeneration. The eye specialist said it was a genetic illness. At 18 mos he is completely blind, but he does fine. We do have to take extra care of him. I emailed the breeder to inform her that the dogs she is breeding carry this genetic defect. She said that no one has every notified her of this before. I really find this hard to believe, but I guess anything is possible. I really didn't think anythin about it until my daughter found Robbie's videos on youtube advertising more choc yorkies. We bought Chunk last year for $700 and now she is selling them for $950 and according to the videos she had at least 3 seperate litters. She told me she bred as a hobby. I think she is doing it for the money. Should I do anything about this. Not everyone is willing to have a dog that is blind. Remember this is not revenge because we love our Chunk. Pls advise. Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Hi Hello, It is vey important to do research before you purchase an animal from a breeder. It is also a good idea to meet the parents and visit where they live. Which means you would have to buy locally. But it is well worth it. Unless you have proof they are doing something wrong there is not much you can do at this point. If you do have some proof of wrong doing then of course you can report this anonomously. I am sorry your baby is blind. But if you give him the love and attention he deserves you won't even notice he can't see you. He will respond to your voice and still love you. Remember dogs give unconditional love. What else in the world could be better if you could give your blind baby a good home. Love him and you will see great rewards. God will bless you for that! God Bless |

| I do realize that we bought on impulse. I our Chunk is a blessing to our family. We couldn't love him any more than we do. I know he was meant to be with us. The things that bothers me is that she knows she has a breeding pair that carry this genetic gene and she is still breeding them and deceiving people. Not all people have the patience to care for vision impaired pet. What do you think will happen to those who are unwanted. This really breaks my heart to thing about what would have happened to my Chunk for he had gone to unworthy family. Chunk's mom A righteous man regards the life of his animal..... Proverbs 12:10 |

| Chunk is so blessed We often wonder what is the right decision. I get in spaces where I don't know just what to do however when I sit down and think I come to the right answer. You have angel wings people would not want a dog that is blind or not perfect who is to say what is not perfect. Follow your heart it will lead you.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Sorry Hi, I'm sorry to say that I am not sure if there is much that you can do. I don't know if there are any laws out there to stop this. You probably would have to prove 100% that this is the problem with genetic testing. And I still don't know if there would be anything you could do to stop them. There's alot of people out there who just want to make a dime. It is sad! Give your baby a big kiss for me . he is blessed to have someone like you. |
