| HELP he ate them again!! Teddy ate the freaking SAME tampons again, they were in a bag and I was about to take them out to throw them away and I set them on top of the trashcan to do go the bathroom and when I came out it was on the floor and he was in the bag, I've given him hydrogen peroxide to try to get him to throw up I dunno how much actually went down his throat since he fought me so hard that I have bleeding scratches all over of thights and bruises. He's in his crate now because he won't stay in the tub but I CANNOT afford another vet visit. i just can't the last one was over 200 dollars and I do not even have 100 in my bank account(husband was deployed this month so we're shorter on money then usual). I don't know what to do. Last time he threw them up all on his own but took a couple days. I just don't know what to do I'm not a bad owner I take good care of him but since my husband left he's been so awful that I can hardly bare ti and then the fact he did this right after he was recovering from the last time!

| I had a beagle who used to do this constantly, to the point that we had to put the trash cans on top of the back of the toilet. It just amaizes me what Dogs will eat.... Daisy used to always throw them up too but one time she started puking. ( excuse the grafics) and we had to take her in. Apparently she had eaten 3 of them!!!! They did surgery but did not have to oipen her bowel. The vet just "sweezed" Or slid them down so she would poop them out. Still cost me 300.00 but she was fine and is almost 17 years old. I would just watche Teddy and see if he poops it out. if not then you will have to take him in. But chances are he will poop it out. I think that Daisy had problems was that she was older and drank a lot of older. So maybe you want to limit Teddy's water. Good luck and keep us posted. Hugs

well these are tampons he had already ate and threw up just yesturday I was about to throw them away when nature called and he managed to get ahold of the bag again while I was gone for that whole I dunno minute or two and he threw them up all on his own last time but he went into a wild throwing up fit and got a shot of penicillin and has been perfectly fine since I just want him to throw it up so I know he will be fine just the thought of it taking in his body but I know they can't expand anymore then they already were.

Yorkie Yakker | Bless your heart, I cannot offer any advice. Just sympathy. I knew exactly what was happening when I read the title of your post. I'm just so sorry. Keep up posted. I really want to know how he does. And I know you miss your hunny.... I'll say an extra prayer for you tonight!

i tried hydrogen peroxide. I doubt much of it got in his mouth I think all of it is in his beard. I have all these awful claw marks all over me(some are bleeding) from fighting with him trying to get him to swallow it. he only gaged once and hasn't since and it's been over 2 hours. so I'm just giving him lots of water(normally when he drinks too much water he gets sick and I was hoping for that but he didn't the ONE time I want him to) he seems the same and alright but I'm still so worried about him. What a way to spend my 1 year anniversary

| If you are sure that giving him hydrogen peroxide is a good idea, and you just need to get some in his system, then you can try using a syringe or a baster to squirt it in his mouth. I don't know whats the right amt. of hydrogen peroxide to give them. but maybe not too much, like just a cap full? maybe others here know and can help you with that. try to google and see if you can find some info. on this. Good luck! |

| It is not recommended to make a dog throw up when they have ingested an object....it is recommended when toxic substances have been ingested. So I don't know if it's a good idea to make him try and throw up. I'm not sure what to tell you...you're lucky he did throw them up last time and was okay. They can cause a blockage and may need to be surgically removed.

| sounds awful. Maybe this is a lesson to secure the trash at all times? I keep a very small trash can under the sink, and the trash can in the bathroom on top of the toilet.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | oh man - not good reading for 6 in the morning.... He isn't being awful - he's being a dog I think you need a new trash routine. Put it up high or better... throw stuff out right away rather than let it sit. |

| uh-oh. Sounds like he's obsessed. Ginger's obsessed with toilet paper. The only way to keep her from ingesting it by the roll full (and she has) is to be incredibly vigilant. Every trash can in our home is covered (tissues, white paper, bills...anything white and papery will attract her need to feed), the toilet paper is in covered metal containers, even my purse is never left in reach. Now that you know how quick he is, a little vigilance will pay off. As for what he just ate, just watch for signs of a blockage and hopefully all will pass one way or the other.

I also recieved some great advice from a member I forget your name right now but I toko the advice of covering his crate(all but the front) with a blanket and hiding treats in his crate and I also faced it away from the door and I've been able to leave twice for an hour and he hasn't gone potty in the crate once!!

Yorkie Yakker | Alright are you ready upindust? I was having a really bad day when I read your second post "He ate them again." And as horrible as this is, I just busted out laughing when I read it. It isn't funny at all. But at the same time... the way you wrote your first post just really got me. I went to walmart today and now I can't even buy tampons without giggling. I just can't get the mental image out of my head of your little one sitting there with a tampon on his paw. Just know that your struggle with your little man DID help me smile when i felt really rotten. So maybe there is ONE positive thing that came out of it... you made Katy grin. I hope he is feeling better. I've thought about him all day today. When does your hubby come home?
