| Home Grooming Okay, so I finally got brave and trimmed Hot Rod and Maggie myself. I've definitely got a lot of practicing ahead of me. I still am deciding on clippers so that's the next step. but here goes, what do ya think for a 1st time attempt? Before: after:

| You done good girl Great first time job. Don't you think they look like puppies again when you get rid of the facial long hair? I just said that this morning because I cut Bud's down also over the weekend. Is there a reason you did not post this in grooming? I couldn't find the forum this morning at all! Did you have trouble finding it by chance as well? Keep up the good work. |

| I think you did a great job! Maggie is sitting so pretty, like she knows she looks good! I love the facial hair short like that, I think it makes them look like puppies!

| Thanks for the vote of confidence (I really need it). Well, I wasn't sure where to post really so I just chose the general forum. I guess I should have put it on that one. I guess that I feel that I still have a long ways to go before I consider it a "grooming". lol. I'll post it there the next time I do it though. Yes, they do look like puppies. I think with Maggies coat I am going to keep her short. She seems to mat if I miss a day of brushing. Hot Rod has always had silky hair. It seems to be growing in so well I didn't have the heart to cut his all the way down.

| Well, I think she knows that she looks good but the real secret is, that I got from another thread, is to put the treat on top of the camera! It worked like a charm on both of them! lol.

| I got the cd from Suencricket and watched it at least 2x over the weekend before attempting this. I was still afraid to do it but I just kept telling myself, "It will grow back, it will grow back". When I was trimming Maggies hind quarters, the lil stink moved and I cut off more than I should have over her leg. In order for it not to look too silly, I matched the other side but now she looks like she is ready for summer and it will be winter. I am going to let her calm down some and then try and even up some of her mid section to match the hinds. Hopefully it will blend a little better after that. Good luck with your little ones. I am sure they are as cute as can be when you groom them.

It is important to tell yourself that it will grow back, we do the same thing! lol! Honestly, we brought them both to a "professional" before the Yorkie meet up we went to last weekend and she did an AWFUL job! That boosted our confidence, because she was the owner of the shop. My Mother and I kind of laughed and said we could do better and we have never felt that way before! Love the tip about the treat and camera! I just thought she sat like an angel!
