| Flea allergy or grass...how common are these really? Ive posted several times before about my dog getting frequent rashes and keeping me up all night due to her ferocious scratching. Weve spent alot on vet bills and tried several medications. Temeril P helps after a few days but she has some bad side effects...she began to pee in her sleep while on it last time. I cannot afford a dermatologist...and dont think there is one in the area anyways. My vet kind of laughed when I mentioned allergy testing. We last were on Temeril about a month ago or less...after about 5 days she seemed so much better and I stopped it. Then I noticed a couple of days ago the scratching started again and now she has a rash and several hot spots. She always gets them by her tail and on her legs, also some on her belly. I did walk her in the park by a soccer field the last few days but how can that be any different from the park I usually walk her in or the grass in my neighborhood? I know my dog doesnt have fleas but can fleas jump on her from the grass and would that be what the rash is from? Im pretty sure after several episodes like this it is not food related, so that leaves the grass or something in it. What do you think? How common are these allergies and how can you avoid grass? |

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | I really wish I knew the answer to this! Bella suffers too as you describe. We stopped letting her go outside to see if it helped. Recently, let her outside to play because the weather was so nice & she dearly Loves it. Well, the last couple of days, she's biting, scratching like crazy. I'm calling the Vet again in the morning. She also has been on a low dosage of Temaril P in the past, but I did not want to continue it. The Vet wanted to try Ivermectin for mites. We may go that route. Benadryl does help. Will let you know how it goes. I'm so sorry your baby suffers with this. We know how miserable it is too!
