| Perfect Age Gap Between Puppies I am contemplating getting another yorkie because Canyon is so lonely and suffers from separation anxiety. I think having a little brother just like him to play with while I'm gone would help him. Canyon will be 5 months old on the 28th of this month. I am considering a puppy that will be 12 weeks old the first week of November which would put Canyon at a little over 6 months when pup comes home. The breeder also has a litter due in October, making the puppy ready in January 2009, which would make Canyon 9 months old at that time. Is there a perfect age gap? I'm thinking the closer in age they are, the better it is as you get the puppy stuff out of the way at the same time. What do you guys think? What's the age difference of your yorkies if you have more than one and which do you think is easier? |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I think you're adding a second at the right age...mostly because puppies are very accepting of additions. I have three...spaced approximately a year between each. So Ramsey is almost 3 and my baby, Reggie is 8 months. Ramsey was a year when I got Reese...who she loved immediately, Reese was a year when I got Reggie. When we brought Reggie home....Ramsey quite literally ignored him. Nose in the air...ignored him. Reese followed her lead...cause she's the big sissy...but Reese could not take the temptation not to play with that new puppy and he caved. LOL. Plus the way I did it....I signed up to potty train for a straight 3 years.

| Mine are less than two months apart (Aug 21 and Oct 10), so they're pretty much the same age. They get along famously - and they go through stages pretty much together, which makes it easier on me. |

| the age difference between my boys is minutes They are from the same liter, never seperated since birth. They get along so well and never leave each other's side pretty much. When I walk them they walk side by side, they sleep side by side, they know the same commands, the same tricks, its too cute. If you pick up one, you have to pick up the other. They usually won't lay on seperate people's laps. They need to lay together on one lap. Its adorable. Ok I know this won't help you since you do not have access to a sibling for your baby, but I think having a 5 month old pup is a great time to add another one to the family.

| Mine are a month apart and there was really no getting used to each other period. They have always got along great and the only difficult thing was pottytraining

| I agree that the closer in age the better. I have from 1 yr to 12 years and the 3 youngest get along best |
