| SO Upset! Don't think Mia can come to work anymore... I'm so sad.......... and confused as well. Kinda long, but need to vent and this is one place where I know everyone will understand. Since the week I brought Mia home as a puppy until now, she has come to work with me almost every single day! And just yesterday as I was walking out the door to go home I hear a fax coming through. I noticed it was from the management office of our building. There's about 5 or 6 buildings total owned by this company so I'm sure it went to every office. So I picked it up and only read briefly that they are going to be enforcing rules regarding pets, which means NO PETS PERMITTED! My heart dropped!!!!!!!! Mia brightens the day of so many that work in our building. She is so loved by everyone around on our side of the building. As I read the fax more clearly this morning, it mentions the management office has received complaints. Keep in mind, Mia isn't the only dog throughout these office buildings. I see lots of dogs, big and small. Also, right across the hall are Gigi and Alister....2 yorkies that Mia plays with almost every day. I just wonder if any complaints were made against our three dogs? Also, the reason for my confusion is because the owner of all of the buildings will come in occasionally and check to make sure all is well, and he's met Mia a number of times and I've asked if it is ok for her to be here and he said YES! This was months ago. This owner also brings his yellow lab to work every day. Maybe he's not setting the best example to tenants? My boss is also a dog lover and brings her Newfoundland (HUGE) into the office on occasion so I know she will be slightly upset as well. They say.. "exceptions to this policy under extraordinary circumstances have been documented in the terms of the applicable leases", I wonder what those exceptions are!? Grrrr... I'm so, so sad right now. An older lady that works next door says she going to get a doctors note saying that Mia helps with her stress!! She's just as upset as I am! If I can no longer bring Mia to work, I'm going to be one VERY unhappy camper. But rules are rules...

Donating Yorkie Yakker | maybe the managements rent the buildings and the buildings' owners put out the fax. You've been lucky to take your dog as much as you have. I cannot take Gabby anywhere here except for Petsmart. She's cleaner than some people that go into stores and I never put her down either I hope it blows over and you can keep taking your dog. |

| I know I've been lucky! And I appreciate the fact that my boss lets me bring her to work with me. I just hope I can continue to bring her... we'll see.

That is a shame! Maybe you can talk to the manager?! Maybe something happened and you didn't know about it!? I used to live in a house with 3 newfoundlands, a pit mix, and a border collie mix, we took them on a walk, and the police were called on us, because we didnt have them on a leash, and yet they were walking behind us in a single file line! some people are just stupid and HAVE to follow the rules.... Good Luck!!!! | |

| Our building is so small compared to the others... so I can't wrap my mind around who could have complained!! It very well could have come to management from a different office regarding a different dog...but i just don't know. Our office building is so small, I just don't think it could have come from here. There is only 1 person out of the 3 offices that could have made a phone call... I'm going to talk to her boss today (I know her boss well) and see what she thinks about it. I'd rather not go to her directly and cause any tension around here. I've seen more and more people around are office buildings walking their dogs, maybe its just got a little overwhelming in the main 3 story building where the owners office and management office is.

Just talked to my boss about it and I think next time I catch the owner of all the buildings I'm going to talk to him about it and she what he has to say. Just the fact that he's been in our office a number of times and has pet Mia and has told me straight out that its ok that she's here, I feel a little better about our office in particular. If I need to pay some kind of pet deposit, I'm totally willing.

| Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sterotype larger dogs with smaller dogs, because to me, dogs are dogs, any shape or size...but maybe someone in the building(s) are terrified of a little or big dog...... I would just talk to your boss and find out- maybe they can work out something with you!?

| How disappointing! I'm guessing something has happened w/one of the other dogs that's came to the building at some point. They probably feel they have to tell everyone the rules so they can't be told they are discreminating (sp). Maybe your coworker will get that note stating she helps with stress and you'll have the exception you need

| But you know what family.....not everyone feels about dogs the way we do. Most of my personal girlfriends just HATE them, and they only tolerate Maya when they come around my house. Some people are afraid of them no matter how large or how small,. and they feel about them the way I do about snakes. I don't like snakes, nor the people who call them their PETS and keep them around. I can't stand to look at them or watch them move, it's not about whether or not they can "get" to me or Bite me or hurt me or whether they are poisonous or not. As much as one of my girlfriends does not like dogs, she hates and fears cats even more. SO no telling someone in that building might feel that way.
