| Hello to YT! Hi everyone on YT! This will be my 1st post! My name is Janice and I have a 3 months old yorkie call KiKi for about a month now, all I have to say is I LOVE her sooooo much! Today I was going to get a little buddy for her, so I came acoss this one breeder from Tracy CA, they are asking $700 for a female. So I thought it is a decent price, and decide to check it out. The enviroment of that breeder is just horrible, he hold the puppy like he is holding a chicken (just grab the skin). Then I saw a big fenced garage with at least 10 female yorkies in it, I walked over there, and the breeder asked if I'm interested, then he grabbed onto one of the female dogs by her skin. Oh boy, that female is 5-6 lbs, you don't just grab her like that. I feel really really bad, so I adopted her. I named her Milo. Now I'm wondering what shots do I need to give her, since I don't have any shot record for her, and she is 2 years old already? I'm getting the 2nd puppy shot for my little one tomorrow, do I just get rabbie shot for her? Here's a pic of Milo. She is very shy and scare to get close to me, any suggestion to how to make her more comfortable?

| Hi and welcome to YT. I would talk it over with the vet about Milo's shots. Unfortunately it doesn't sound as though the breeder would have kept her up to date so you may want to ask your vet if you should do a full bloodwork up and start from there. So glad that she found you and Kiki. She will be so much safer and loved. just have patience and give lots of hugs and Milo will come around in no time. She is a beauty! Congratulations on both of your babies.

| welcome to the YT boards! I'm fairly new myself, and everyone here has been great.... Puppies generally need to be dewormed, distemper, and rabies is given at 12 weeks old.... i agree with getting bloodwork done, and they will probably have to re-start all her vaccines Good Luck! | So glad you joined. It's so wonderful you adopted her. I'd take her to the vet, so he can make sure she's healthy.

| You're her Guardian Angel... First off Bless you for saving little Milo from that horrible man!!! She is a real cutie!! Talk to the Vet, He'll probably start from scratch with the works for her. Give her time to realize that she is safe and loved. It'll be O.K. Blessings to all... Baron and his Mom

| Hi and welcome to YT! KiKi looks like a little sweetie, soooo cute! And Milo is adorable also. She just needs patience and understanding, as she is in a whole new world now thanks to you! I wouldn't have done anything different, except probably go bankrupt trying to get all the dogs he had lol. Is there any way you can report him to the spca, and have them go check him out and maybe rescue the rest of those babies?? Anywelcome and you will totally and completely fall in love with your babies.

| Hi! Welcome! Bless you for saving this little one. Although I know we'd all like to take them all home, there was some reason that this girl pulled at your heart. There is something special in store for you two. I also rescued a puppy mill breeder, and trust me when I say, you will not believe the love she will give you once she realizes she's loved and safe. Annie lived in a cage and had no idea of what a dog was suppose to do. She didn't know what grass was and would only potty on the cement. I was fortunate that there where 2 other well behaved dogs in the household and she was quickly on her way to being a good canine citizen. It took nearly 2 years before she was really comfortable going out and meeting people. I took it slowing, at her pace and was very careful to make sure she had only good experiences when we went out. She was a true princess and simply insisted on being carried everywhere. I was blessed to have her in my life for 8 years, she never did come around to wanting to play with toys, and she would only go out onto the grass if there was a bunny to chase She was my constant companion, and I couldn't imagine being able to breath if anything should have happened to her. She was the air that filled my lungs each morning and the sigh that escaped each night before we fell asleep. And I was right...when she suddenly became ill this past March and I had to make that must awful of all decision, I couldn't breathe. The absolute love and devotion from these rescues is unequalled. Be patient, don't push her beyond what she is comfortable with. No sudden movements lots and lots of treats. Try many different foods/treats so that she can see whats available and find that one special treat. For Annie it was apples or popcorn. Realize she may have issues and allow her the time to work thru them. Imagine being in a totally dark and silent cell for all your life and then sudden sweeped away to experience sights, sounds, smells that you never even thought could exist. That's what she's going thru right now. She'll come around in when she's ready and then let the fun begin!! Sorry to have highjacked your post, rescues have a special place in my heart and once I get started... Please keep us posted on her progress and post more pictures of both your babies when you can!
