| Behavior: Humping My 10 month old (spayed) female yorkie, Heidi, humps a toy dog we got for her. Is this a sexual thing or is it a dominance thing? I didn't know girls did it. Does anyone have any knowledge in this area? |

| I have a 21 month old spayed female that humps also...I have been told it is because she is trying to be dominant...

| I used to have a female rottie that humped ALL the time. If I had company I had to lock her up cause she LOVED new people. If she got ahold of ya look out. She would give ya love nibbles while she was going to town on ya and she had a hell of a grip. It was hard to get her off of you if she got ya. |

| I've never seen a female hump, hehehe....bet it's a funny sight. But I've never had a female dog (yet) so it's not like I would really know anyway. I think it's just that some are humpers and some aren't. Sully has never really humped at all and he's a year old and neutered at 6mo. of age.....but our best friends' puppy is 9 weeks old and he's a humpin' fool. He humps Sully all the time and it's soooo funny.....of course I think he'll grow out of it at least a little bit. He's still adjusting to his new home.

| "humpin female" I'm not sure if I should get into this again... except to say, that my first baby was a female, and for a while she used to hump her stuffed puppy. It was just for a short time... and she kind of just stopped. I've heard it's a dominance thing. |

| its definately a dominance thing...i mean dogs dont really get "urges" unless a female dog is in heat (which by the way a male dog can smell from 3 miles away!...i learned that on animal planet lol)
