| HELP! Fleas I'm so angry, sad, mad, pissed, annoyed - anything and everything you could possibly feel. Here I was thinking that Lilly's been itching non-stop because I wasn't able to give her a bath with her soothing shampoo before she went in for her spay. She's been itching uncontrollably therefore I've checked her EVERY SINGLE DAY and haven't seen ANYTHING. Last night when we went in the bedroom to go to bed, I always pull the covers back to check for spiders . Good thing I did cus WOW! I see little black specks... put some on a tissue, spit on it and GUESS! It turned to blood! I'm just shocked! So as I'm sitting there thinking "what am I going to do", she's itching... then moves... and I see a flea ON THE BED! This is all at around 1 AM. I call my boyfriend hysterically because I'm just so down and sick of all the bad luck. I'm almost 100% positive she got them at the vet when she was spayed because she was FINE BEFORE that. I have some carpet powder that I got at Wal-mart for like $12 when she had fleas as a baby. I also have Dawn dish liquid. However, I don't have any flea prevention on hand and hello! it's Sunday so the vet isn't open. What should I do? Would it even be okay for me to give her a bath now? Tomorrow will be her 10th day and that's when I was going to bathe her but NOW?! Oh and not to mention, we're experiencing extremely high winds today because of Ike and it's supposed to storm and there are chances of tornados. I live in a town that has several previous tornados and AHHH I don't feel safe in my house so my mom wants me to come there but I don't want to give my grandma's dog fleas. HELP HELP HELP PLEASE!

| I mean is it going to do any good if I bathe her in the Dawn today and put the stuff on my carpets and vaccum and I guess I'll just make her stay in her crate in the kitchen or something until I'm done doing the carpets and washing all the bedding, toys and blankets. Or am I just going to be wasting my time since I have no flea prevention to put on her? Before when this happened, my boyfriend was here to help and he took her to the groomers and stuff while I tried to get anything that was possibly in the carpets killed .

| There may not be any fleas in the carpet but I would treat it just to be on the safe side since you have something. The dawn will kill any thats on her. Then tomorrow you can get a flea preventative so that if she goes outside and one gets on her it will kill it. When I see a flea on mine the first thing I do is wash them with dawn and I dont even use a flea preventative.

| Plese wait at least 2 days after bath before putting on any Flea medicine. The medicine travels on the oil on their skin . Check the directions on box.

| Lilly doesn't go outside at all unless I'm carrying her to the car . Anyway, I just bathed her. I did the Dawn twice and saw NOTHING either time, I made sure I focused on her butt, stomach/chest and face. TWO TIMES. Then used a flea shampoo and NOTHING. When she had them as a baby, when we would towel dry her off before blow drying we'd always see a few in the towel... I saw nothing yet again and I toweled her pretty good. I checked while her hair was wet (she's got like not even an inch of hair) and saw nothing. Now I'm off to do the carpets, all of the toys and bedding are in garbage bags tied up ready to go in the washer. Any idea what's going on? AHHH

| Wow, she doesn't go outside? She must have gotton the fleas at the Vets. We live in FL, Tricksie does not go outside but she got a few fleas and the Vet put her on Comfortis and she has never had a flea since and I have not used it in months. Dawn wouldn't kill them. Good Luck, let us know. Hope you don't get bad weather.

| I'm sure she could have picked them up @ the vet. Romeo came home with fleas after a grooming @ Petsmart.

| Well, I've done everything I can possibly do since the vet is closed. I was rolling sweat from vaccuming so much, I vaccumed the couch, crevices, edge of the couch, carpet, around the base boards EVERYWHERE! She's still itching some but I can't tell if it's because of fleas or if it's because of her allergies . I guess I'll know in the morning when I wake up if there's flea dirt on the bed or her blanket. I'm going first thing in the morning to the vet to get the flea prevention, should I get a Capstar pill too or just the prevention? Which one should I get? I used Revolution the last time I put some on her which was months ago. From now on, she's getting it put on every month like you're supposed to, I'm not going through this stress again.

| I would definitely give her a Capstar as soon as possible. Call around, some of your friends might have one. I'd Capstar then Frontline Plus or Advantix. There's now a 30 day flea pill, but I haven't heard from anyone that's tried it. Good luck ! It's awful I know.

| She's still been itching & chewing at her legs and face (itching the face, chewing the legs). I've checked her probably 10 times since I gave her a bath and I don't see a darn thing! My boyfriend thinks I dried her skin out but I just seem to think that she still has creepy crawlies crawling on her. I'm still so confused on what flea prevention to go with too as I want to spend the money and be DONE with them. I'm seeing lots of good things about the Comfortis but Idk... we always used Frontline Plus & Revolution in the past but they just don't have as good of reviews as the Comfortis. Any suggestions?!?! ETA: Should I go ahead and treat her with a worm preventative too in case she got or gets any from the fleas?! Thanks~
