| Leaving television on Zoey has slept for 3 nights downstairs without barking/crying for a long time (actually none at all). We moved her downstairs, and I left the television on low (on animal planet, of course). Not sure if the talking soothed her or if she liked the glow from the tv. Am going to try just leaving on a night light without the tv to see if it works. She was waking up every 3 to 4 hours, needing me to let her know I was still here. Wow, a full night's sleep for the first time in 3 weeks. This is nice...... |

| We string the tiny white lights on a floor plant. I like that they are not in total darkness. I do leave the TV on if I can't take them. I use to leave it on animal planet, but they like Sponge Bob. I think it's because of all the cute sounds. It's much better than animal planet.

| I don't know about night time but whenever we leave our Zoë home alone in her xpen I leave the TV on in the living room. I usually leave it on Animal Planet, TLC/Discover, or a cartoon channel. I don't know if it makes a big difference or not but she hardly ever cries when I leave (and if so only for a bit). I like to think it calms her, as she'll sit with us while we're home and watch tv.... Congrats on being able to get a full night's sleep! I know I'm still rejoicing, a week Friday I decided to just try to see if she'd sleep through the night on her own (and not wake her up to go out in the middle of the night) and thank goodness she'll sleep through the night and even sleep in! |

| Sasha's the opposite. At night time she seems to quiet and settle down when I turn the TV OFF. I used to enjoy sleeping with the TV on but I had to sacrifice for a good night's sleep. |

| I leave the tv on for the boys during the day! I've had people stop by when I was gone and then get upset later and say.... I went by your house, I know you were home cause your tv was on!!!!! Nope, just leave it on for the boys!!

| I'm going to definitely try this and see if it works to calm my little pup down while I'm away. I'm so excited to give it a whirl. Thanks for the idea.

| The only time our t.v. is off is when we all go to bed. They like the peace and quite at bedtime, which hubby and I are so greatful for. But when I do leave during the day, I leave the t.v. on animal planet or cmt.
