I'm a little freaked out right now!!!!! I just found out that Shadow is most likely from a puppy mill! I was looking at his "papers" (apri never heard of them) and the owners name is on the USDA list so that's most likely a puppy mill isn't it? I thought I could trust my sister on this little man since she is the one who sold him to me. He's been pretty healthy since we have gotten him. The only problem we had was cocidia when he was 9 weesks. I'm just worried that this little guy is going to have so many health problems throughout his life. Oh he's 6 months now even though his "papers" said he was only like 2 weeks when we bought him. So I know for sure that's not right. We didn't get his "papers" until we had had him for a month and they don't matter to me anyway. I just hope and pray the little guy will stay healthy and live a long life.

Calm Down I found my Yorkie out of the newspaper after calling and looking around for quite a while. When I told folks, "I got him from a breeder" they all told me it was a "puppy mill". It wasn't. It was a very clean place and he breeded a lot of Yorkshire....and all so adorable. I asked a lot of questions and was there about an hour too. I didn't feel it was a "puppy mill", but then again I am new to the dog world. This is the first dog I have ever had.

| Everything will be fine. I found out that Hot Rod was an Apri registered dog and was from Missouri and his breeder on the USDA list. Talk about freaking out. I got a report on the last three inspections and the violations were not all terrible and she had 35 dogs...granted that is a lot but not like what I expected to find out--100's. Knock on wood Hot Rod just turned a year old and he has been very healthy. He is just about 3 1/2 lbs and is the most loving and sweet dog. His temperment is wonderful. He is very smart and is just a joy to have in our lives. Your baby will be fine, just give him lots of love and attention and he will give back 10 fold.

Yes, the USDA list is the "puppy mill" list. Did Shadow come from a pet store? Most people don't find out that their puppy came from a puppy mill until they get the papers. Then they are shocked to find out he came from a mill in Oklahoma or Missouri instead of a "local breeder" as they were told. It's done now and he's yours so don't beat yourself up about it. He is at higher risk for genetic conditions because mill dogs are inbreed and no health testing is done, but he might stay perfectly healthy. The best advice is to start putting away money every month in a special account set up for vet bills only. It's a good idea to do with any dog, but especially important with one that may be at a higher risk for medical problems down the road. Has he had a bile acids test yet? I would definitely get one done. Also make sure your vet checks his kneecaps.

Honey enjoy your puppy. If he's healthy now stop worrying about what not even happen. Buddy was from a pet store and he's as healthy as can be. No all pups are sick from a pet store. Some are even sick from breeder's so stop worring and enjoy your little guy. Congratulations,

Well, my breeder is not on either list....the AKC ban list; or this one here. So, does this mean that is a good thing? I am just confused right now about all of this . I know my Bailey means the world to me and I would hate it if something happened to her. I guess I just feel like the person that posted this whole thread; because you really don't know what to expect from someone if you really don't know them!
