| Travel with my yorkie from Brussels, Belgium to Tampa Hi. Could anyone help me please. I plan to travel from Brussels( Brussels is around 3 hour driving from Paris), Belgium next year to Tampa, Fl. I will have a stop in Washington and then flight to Tampa as my final destination. Kenzo my yorkie will come with me and since he weighs only around 3 kg, so he can stay with me in the cabin. My questions are what requirements do I need to fulfill in order I can pass the immigration control? What vaccins, etc? Thank you for reading this. All advices are welcome!!! |

| Your most welcome! I travelled through Brussels back in Feb 2001 going to a wedding in Amsterdam. After that we went on to Paris. I'll be in Paris with my two pups in the summer of 2009. March 2009 is booked for Ireland as I haven't been back there since 2005. By the way--your dogs are beautiful! |

| Hi I traveled from Frankfurt, Germany to Tampa, FL in Dec. and we had to have a HC from my Vet ... Shot Records and a Cabin Kennel USDA approved .... When you check in they want to see that the Dog has Food and Water and is alive ..... When you fly back from Tampa to home you have to have the USDA HC Form 7001 ... you need to get that at leats 1 week PRIOR to flying back from a Vet there ..... USDA is located in Gainesville, FL. Phone Nr. is 352 - 333 - 3120 and you have to send them a 24 $ ..... we had a few Issues with that ... so get as much Info as possible .... there going to leave your Pet behind ... we where running out of time with the darn Stamp on the Paper .... Way to many Problems ... and they sure like to take there time ... TRUST ME ...

| Some more questions Quote:
"Most countries including those of the European Union now have a veterinary certificate that is specific to their country. If there is not healthy certificate for the country you are visiting then you should use the International Health Certificate USDA-APHIS 7001 form. It is officially known as "United States Interstate and International Certificate of Health Examination for Small Animals. Some countries require that it be certified by the USDA - See USDA certification Pet passport travel quarantine for international travel, immigration, forms PetTravel.com " My questions are did you have a european passport for your dog when visited Tampa last year? Did you have a health certificate from your veterinary stated that your dog was vaccinated against rabies and your dog is healthy? I gathered some information from an office here in Belgium and the guy didn't mention about the HC form. I'm confused. Sorry for these so many questions. Do I still need to have the USDA-APHIS 7001 form even if I have a european passport for my dog, a healthy certificate and a rabies vaccination certificate? Thank you in advance for reading this.

Hi ... all I had was the HC (Health Certificate) from my Vet that said she is up to Date on shots and healthy .... and that USDA Cabin Carrier .... no Passport for her ..... In the US we had to have the 7001 Form cause we stayed 30 days ... it is a Stamp on a Paper saying you can take the dog back to Europe ..... the Vet there takes Care of that ....... you just have to pay .... ask them once your there .... I don't know why you have a Passport for your Dog ... I did not need one at all ... well better call the Airline and see what they need .... See I needed the HC and no Passport and you need a Passport and no HC ??? I am confused now too ... I was hoping I could help you .....

I don't know what kind of passport but we call it here a European passport for dogs which state his name, birthday, what vaccines had been given, etc. Btw, I am going to stay only 2 weeks, do you think that I will need the 7001 Form also? Thank you for your reply.
