| Help!! Need advice quick. Triss licked wet paint. I was painting a room yesterday and somehow Triss snuck in there and while I had my back turned she licked the paint tray once and got some paint in her mouth. I took her to the sink and washed it out of her mouth and just kept an eye on her. Well, she vomited some yellow-clear fluid and had some thin diarreah. Other than that, she is eating fine, drinking fine, and playing/chewing on her bully stick. Should I just keep an eye on her, call the emergency vet, or wait and call in the morning? I dont know what to do or if this is an emergency or not.

| LIver damage?? I am fighting liver damage..call your vet and ask just to be safe!! if any toxins have gotten into your babies system, you need to get some milk thistle in her/his system to cleanese it, I have my 9 year old on it and a liver repair diet trying to save his liver and life, don't know what damaged his liver, but know that paint will damage a liver of a little yorkie, so read up on every website you can, and stay away from the liquid tick and flea crap you put on the back of dogs, it is poison that builds up in the blood system and damages the liver, use the pill form that guards against heartworm, flea and tick. Hope this helps... Write me at colorirstkim at hot mail dot com if you need me.. I am a yorkie nut... |

| I called my vets emergency line. Since she is not lethargic/unresponsive, they told me just to bring her in at 8am sharp for some bloodwork. I know its midnight, but I took her for a walk around the yard to see if she had to go poop so I could see if there were any changes. She didnt go though. Im so nervous I dont know how much sleep I'll get tonight.

| Was it oil based paint or latex?? Acrylic or latex would be less toxic than oil based. I hope she will be O.K.!!

| The vet said she will be fine. She had a normal stool this morning. He said thats a good sign. She must've just gotten an upset tummy from it.

They do have an animal poison control center through the ASPCA, but......they charge you $60 to answer your questions.

| I'm so glad to hear she is okay. We have an 8 month old Yorkie in our rescue who ate paint when he was 3 months old, he developed a liver problem. |

| Was the problem apparent right away, or did it take a while for it to show up?
