| Yorkie burying bones? ok I buy rawhide bones for both my dogs and i am finding them in the rock garden around my pool. I can understand burying them in dirt but he is burying them in rocks. It is too funny watching him move the rocks around with his nose! anyone else have a funny burying story? Tammy Last edited by JackNDaisy; 08-28-2008 at 08:48 AM. |

| When Trixie was the only dog in the house, she would hide her treats and 'bury' them under the pillows on my bed. But now she just eats them....to keep the others from getting them out of her hiding spots, I suspect. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey's the first dog I've ever had that's displayed this trait so vigorously. It use to be every dog chew we gave him seemed more important to "bury" than chew. He would spend so much time finding a place to bury the bone, and would take his nose and rub the area than touch the bone all around the bone he would go, as if he were covering the bone with dirt. Obviously, this is an instinct not a learned behavior, but I found it so fascinating that dogs who don't even have any dirt will try to bury their bones.
