| New mom for adopted yorkie! I am very excited to find this forum full of useful information. I have recently adopted a 4 month old yorkie who was found by a local police officer in a dumpster. He was literally thrown away. Thank goodness he was rescued and taken to the local humane society where I met him and realized what a sweet dog he is. His name is Oscar, since he was found in the garbage, and we just wanted to say hello. I am curious to know what toys are good for the chewing? I want to make sure I purchase safe and appropriate toys for him. |

| Welcome! How fortunate for Oscar that he now has someone who will love and appreciate him! I haven't been here for very long, but I can tell you that you have ended up in a place where people really know about and love their yorkies! I had never heard of bully sticks before coming here - I read so many positive posts about them that we had to try them. Those are now Roxy's favorite things to chew. Good luck to both you and Oscar, and again, welcome!

| Hi and Welcome to Oscar and his new mom... Hi and Welcome to YT. I've only been a member here since 08-08-08. MY Baron is 81/2 months old and my first Yorkie. He has a 7 year old Papillion Brother named Sammy who is a little teapot @ 15 pounds. Baron weighs appr. 5.5 pounds. They have a line of teething toys just for puppies @ Walmart and Superpets. Baron also loves rope toys, they are his absolute favorites. If you have a Target near by right now in the $1.00 bins in the front of the store they have shirts/tees/dresses/collars/harnesses/leashes/stainless steel bowls/travel bowls/all kinds of rope toys/squeeky toys/balls all for a buck. I got my boys alot of cute clothes and toys and spent only $15.00. Check it out. You can spoil them and save $$$...Once again, WELCOME and post pictures so we can see your baby. You're gonna LOVE it here... Baron and his Mom

| Welcome Oscar is a very lucky puppy. I just can't get over the fact that someone threw him away. Some people are just so heartless. I'm glad you found eachother. |

| Welcome! I haven't been a member very long but this site has been so helpful and full of information for my litte guy Padre! I'm so happy that Oscar is in a comfortable and loving home, who could throw an animal (much less a yorkie?) in the garbage--what a happy outcome! Padre absolutely loves his Kong chew toy. I fill it with fresh cut cantaloupe sometimes. Other times, I feel it with Natural Balance lamb treats cut into small portions. He also loves frozen yogurt--it keeps him busy for a long time. Also, any type of ball! Especially those that squeak. He will play fetch in the park until my arm falls off. While in the house, we have a larger soft ball that he loves to carry around and play with. I also found Dingo's dental bones are something that he goes crazy over. I don't think the rawhide is that safe for them unsupervised though so make sure to give it to Oscar when you're around to watch him. Have fun and post some pictures! |

| I wouldn't be to quick to judge. It is quite possible that the little guy was not "thrown" away but rather get loose and somehow ended up in a dumpster and that some heart sick owner is going crazy. I guess that I have a different view since my granddaughter's yorkie, Blitzen, has been missing for 2 years this weekend.

My Suzi is 6 months old. She likes Little squeaky toys, and stuffed animals that are small enough for her to pick up in her mouth. It is fun to experiment with different toys and see what Oscar perfers. He is a puupy and will probably even go for your socks, shoes, and any kink of paper products. LOL .
