We spent $750 for Chip and Smokey was a rescue that was free. I'm a little offended by the fact that some people have said that those that can't afford the expensive price tag, shouldn't have a yorkie at all.
Well do not be offended... my first two yorkies were rescues from a breeder.. and al I had to pay was having them altered... I was not about to pay at that time 600.00 for a yorkie..which I thought was terrible 20 years ago.. but I sure had not problem buying there needs and taking to the vet for care..Of course times change and I do pay now for a yorkie..
I paid way to much for mara and was scammed at the same time.. but I got a great dog out of the ordeal..
But there are people, me included that just could not justify spending that much money.. I was up front with the breeder who in the end trusted me so much.. that if I knew of a person for a yorkie at no cost that could be good and trustworthy.. she would call me.. and I could pick yorkie up and take them to a person without her meeting and interviewing them.. yet I would not pay that much.. I had never had a dog as an adult.. and just could not.. but as my vet says to others.. I love to see how anne spoils her dogs.. my vet in the states said.. if all her clients were like me.. she would not see what comes through her doors..
So that has not judgement on character of a person.. other then scammers that like to come on the forums just to get people going..I have seen this a lot also..

Have you noticed how many of these people need a free dog b/c they have a very sick family member? How much time can you have for a puppy, if you're dealing with something like that? Wouldn't you rather spend every minute you can with your loved one, especially if their health issue is terminal? A few months after adopting a puppy from the humane society, my grandmother had to have open heart surgery. Four of us ran back and forth to the hospital to sit with her, and then to her house to entertain the puppy. It was exhausting! Eventually, my aunt and uncle decided the puppy would just stay at their house until my grandmother came home. She did get to come home for a month before she passed away. As far as she knew she was perfectly healthy when she adopted the puppy and never would've brought him home had she known what was going to happen. She put off getting a puppy for 2 years while my grandad was in a nursing home. She wanted to spend as much time as possible with my grandad and knew it wouldn't be fair to a dog. Simon now lives with another aunt of mine. She and my cousin weren't able to be here much through the whole ordeal and taking Simon gave them a lot of comfort. We were all crazy about him, but he gets a lot more one on one attention with them.

I would like to point out that there are dogs that originally came with high price tags sitting in rescues and shelters. How much someone pays for a dog has nothing to do with how commited they will be to the dog. Didn't Paris Hilton just rehome like 17 of her high priced pet shop puppies. JMO, but if you have to work hard and save for something you will appreciate more, than if it was given to you or you are able to slap the cash down without a second thought.

No. She rehomed 7 out of her 17 dogs. She still has 10 of them.

She also "forgot" to pick up a kitty she adopted from a rescue. She just never went back to get it when she dropped it off at the vet to be fixed. It had to be given back to the rescue...

Angry Tell them to save their pennies and buy one...

This works on my nerves alot. If they can't afford the expense to buy one, than they can't afford the shots,spay/Neuter and grooming either. Maybe they go begging for that too. There are rescues and shelters that have Yorkies and other small breed dogs that need homes. You don't get something for nothing in the real world, so wake up !!! Baron's Mommy And, I paid full price for him too !!!!!

I am not talking about a reasonable price (i.e- 500+) for adoption. I mean begging for free, or for one for 1,2,3 hundred dollars from a breeder.

If you MUST/NEED a yorkie puppy, save up money, or adopt one in your price range. Dont get on the internet begging, and pleading for a free yorkie baby. It is a waste of time, on both ends. Even with a sob story. Ya know?

Yorkie breeders put alot of blood, sweat, tears and money into their programs. They often get offended at these people who beg for something for nothing.. I know I would.... I would NEVER EVER ask/beg ANYONE for a free yorkie, or any other pet for that matter. It is tacky and insulting. IMO anyways.

I FULLY support rescues. 100%. I just wish before these people go to begging, they would look into rescuing, or ATLEAST look into the breed and issues of the breed.. Most of the people begging are wanting a "teacup" yorkie in the first place
