OMG that is so sad but Im glad they are free from the mill hopefully they will have a good chance at a new life

Yesterday I received an email from the Humane Society requesting emergency donations to help with the 1000+ dogs. I sent my donation in and forwarded the link to everyone on my contacts list (which is okay cuz my friends already know I'm a crazy animal activist). I hope it's okay to post this link - they really need the help.

Well they called me today. We offered to take some. I think we are going to meet them tomorrow along the highway to get them. I am not sure what breeds yet. I asked for a little of everything.

I just got home from getting the dogs settled. We got 17 doxies. All seem pretty friendly. They are different colors and a few are long haired, I will post pics tomorrow well I mean later today!

Bless you for taking some of the dogs. (And 17 to boot) I wish so much I could help. As it is, I am over my limit here where I live. Can't wait to see the pictures. You are truly a blessing.

Well I don't have them at my house. They are at my shelter. But I really do like a little chocolate girl with long hair. I will post pics later.

Wow! You are amazing for taking in 17 doxies to your shelter! This discusts me though. 1000 dogs? That is absolutely ridiculous. She shouldn't get off with nothing. That just wouldnt be fair. Now if these dogs were people, I think that it would be a different story. Why do people look down on animals like they do?! They share this earth just as much as we do!

I can understand. I have a 10 yr. old Doxie named Candy. (and 3 Yorkies and 1 Yorkie/Poo) So 5 total. I wish I had the land/room for more.
Those Doxies are really sweet. That is all I use to have until 6 years ago when I got my first Yorkie. But they get older, and I have lost them. Now I only have 1 dachshund left.
Still think it is so good of you to be able to take 17 to your shelter. Bless You.

Most of them didnt stay in town, most of the dogs have been scattered around the country in adoption centers as far as Utah.A total of 65 remain in parkersburg for adoption. stated by Maryann Hollis executive director of the HSOP in our local paper.Just thought Id let ya know most didnt stay here.
