| Possibly switching vets I took Lilly to get her nails cut today and went back to the vet that my dear boyfriend took her to a few weeks ago. I believed him when he said they were really nice but I didn't really expect them to be as nice as they were, I was surprised and I LOVED it! I felt so comfortable yet at our vet, I feel like I'm there, give them my money then I'm out the door. It's like when I ask questions I'm being a pain in their butt or something . At this vet, he ASKED me if there was anything else they could do for me. It was nice to feel like an actual customer and then some and actually pay for something that was worth my money. So, question: How do I switch vets? Do I just bring in all her papers or what? I ask because it's coming up time for her next shots and she isn't spayed yet and I'm wanting to get her spayed asap. I've been putting it off because I really dislike our vet and couldn't see me leaving her there. Thanks in advance! Btw, my little ham weighed almost 9 lbs haha! I love it!

Donating Yorkie Yakker | Just do it! Just make the appt at the new vet for the shots. Don't go to the old vet again and if they call- don't answer or tell them "thanks but she won't be back"---no need to get into it with them. Just keep it simple. I switched vets a few months ago and am so glad I did. |

| When I changed my Babies vet, all I did was have the old vet fax a copy of my babies records to the new vets office. It was the best move I have ever done. Like you I felt the same way. Lulu, Bosley Beamer, & Baby Zoey's Mommy |

| I would say just make an appointment at the new vet and ask them what records they need from the old vet. A simply phone call should take care of getting records sent, and if they ask you why you are leaving, you can just say that you found a better match, or like Skippy's mom said, just don't get into it at all. They might ask why you are leaving, in which case I would tell them that you feel more comfortable with this new vet. |

| This is probably what I'll try to do. That or I'll just ask them what I need to do !

| I have a little record book where the vet put everything down that Lilly had done vaccination wise. I'm kind of afraid he didn't write everything down though - I'm sure he did, I'm just a worry wart about everything. I'll just have them fax everything over or something.

| I switched a couple of months back. Told old vet that hubby felt more comfortable with other vet--which was very true. I did also. I got real lucky, it happened to be my old vet from years ago, she moved over to where we currently live. They got the records from the old vet for me. I would switch if you feel more comfortable with the new vet but I would let the old one know. Maybe they will wake up and be a little more compassionate to future clients.
