| HELP w/broke nail I am not sure what to do-cut it or leave it?? Gizmo broke his nail almost all the way off. It is still on but it looks like a crack about 1/16" from the toe and the nail is bent sideways. I have never seen this happen and he cries if I touch it. Do I leave it or cut it off? Thanks Phyllis |

| I don't think I'd touch it and take him to the vet and let them do it. I hope Gizmo is better soon!

| This has happened to my mom's maltese twice, she took her to the vet and he removed it and bandaged her foot up. It really didn't seem to bother her too much after he did it.

| Poor baby! I've broken nails down to the quick and boy does it hurt. One of those bite the bullet kind of things. Like ripping off a bandage so the pain is fast! Good luck!

| Thank you for the advice. I called the vet and they said to cut it at the broken spot. I was so worried it would bleed alot. He let me cut it without any problems and LOTS of snuggles. Now I just keep it clean and it should feel better in a few days. It just breaks my heart to see him hurt. Thanks again Phyllis |

| Let me tell you all about the time a lady came in to the shop with this 3 lb poodle! I think there is some thing wrong this her foot!? So I stop and put the dog I was working on in the cage and looked at her foot! I would say so! The nail was broke all the way back and hair wraped around the nail and toe! I cut the nail off and then carifully unwraped the hair and shaved the foot! I also put cream on the nail! I told her if you leave her all day I'll work her in and give her a good gromming! Man did she need it! She said " I raelly don't have the money right now!"I being the nice person I am ! told her I would do it free this time! But If she was going to have a poodle she has be groomed 6-8 weeks! She had ears full of hair and dirty! I see this all the time! It makes me so mad! You would not belive some the dogs I see! I have refused to do some that were so bad that they needed to go the vet.! This little thing was so good and let me do all this to her! I didn't want to give her back! I've never seen her again! There is someterriblepeople out there! Well that's my grooming story for today! Thought I would let you all know what us groomers see all the time! lily |

| My cousin is a groomer & she has some stories! She once found an earring buried in a matted dog & my favorite story was that she had a Saint Bernard in the shop and he kept gagging like he was going to throw up. She got really nervous and went over to him. Next thing she knew he threw up a pair of kid's Superman underwear!!! I guess he felt much better after getting that out of his system...
