| Showing odd behavior I gave Sadie a bath tonight. After her bath she ran around rubbing on the rug in my living room because she felt that I hadnt dried her off enough, I guess. I think I may have gotten alittle bit of water in her ear. Anyway, I brushed her and she was running around just as happy as she could be! I let her out to go potty after she was all dry. She then came up on the couch with me and laid down on the blanket at my feet (I was stretched out on the couch). A little while later, she got up and came over to my face and started wimpering and climbed on my chest and wimpered and just stood there. Then got down and went back over to the blanket and laid back down to sleep. I immediately realized that she had peed on me (it was actually on my side and on the couch)!! It didnt smell like urine though. I dont know what she was thinking but she's never done this before!! It almost seemed like she couldnt help it or something. I dont know.....Does anyone have any ideas why she would do this? Last edited by BethPurk; 08-19-2008 at 09:19 PM. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | It may be submissive peeing. Quote:
Also, when rinsing the head, you should fold the ear flaps down with one hand and spray water with the other, no water will get in the ear if this is done properly.

| I dont know why she felt the need to get up all of a sudden and show that sort of behavior toward me though. I didnt yell at her. I just picked her up after I realized that she had peed on me and I put her in her xpen to sleep. It was just a really odd thing for her to do right out of the blue like that. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | If this is just a one-time thing, I wouldn't worry about it; she may have been over tired. However, if it happens again, especially when you first come home, you could benefit from reading the link.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Whenever I read of girls peeing unexpectedly, I think of submissive urination, and whenever I read of boys peeing unexpectedly, I thinking of marking. Hopefully, it was a one-time thing, I guess it's possible there could be a bladder infection, and this occasionally happens in girls after spaying, but if this hasn't happened yet that's probably not the case. With Yorkies, your life will be full of surprises.

| When giving a bath you can put cotton balls in her ears to keep the water out and use a drying solution afterwards. If her ears get wet inside, there is a good chance that she will get a yeast infection in them. Urinating in the wrong place could be so many things. It could be submissive, excited, marking (even in females), incontinence, infection, stones... If it happens again I would have her checked for an infection.
