| Ok..they are hiking and peeing everywhere now So...I know when they testicles have dropped, and they are hiking their legs it's time to neuter. This has happened over night. And now they are peeing on everything they walk by. They don't do it in my house, but I brought them to work today and they are all of a sudden hiking and peeing on things, even files stacked on the floor. Is neutering goint to correct this? Please someone tell me yes, they will stop marking everything. I'm going nuts!

| Scooter is 7 months and started marking on everything for the past few weeks. I had to put on a belly band at times. He was neutered last week and he seems to have drastically cut down on the marking. I think now when he lifts his leg and pees, it is actually urinating more than marking with small amounts. There is hope but I think the sooner they get neutered the less likely the marking becomes a habit.

I have seen a drastic change. To the point where I am worried that he doesn't pee enough...He doesn't even hike and mark outside like he did... it was so funny before he would fall over trying to mark everything... now he even walks nicer on the leash... I have put belly bands on him and he is dry sometimes lately. I am so grateful because my family was ready to throw me and Cooper both out. But... He is still Pooping in the house. He will walk for an hour outside.... come in and poop in the corner....

Lol, that's funny. Neutering certainly helps with marking, while the testicles make the vast quantity of testosterone, the body does make some and even some females will mark. So while neutering stops most males from marking insid, most will continue to mark outside. I think it's important to walk your dog, and give him this opportunity. They seem to really enjoy this. He could be marking in the office, because he smells other dogs have been there before. I think I would use bellybands when I took him other places.

| If I had a male dog, I'd definately have him fixed. In the meantime i'd try using belly bands. This is the main reason I did not want a boy dog. Yorkies are notrious leg lifters. These little dogs love to mark . Suzi does not do that, but, she has had submissive peeing when very excited.

to the OP...belly bands are great for markers! and from what i was told was that if you had gotten neutered before he got into that habit he would never start marking but since he has then he will continue to do so...so that is what i told my sister and she got her boys neutered before they showed any sign of marking and they have not tried marking yet...so maybe there is some truth to that... hope everything works out for you!

| I relaxed...breathed...and waited... then you guys came through for me. Thanks, I'm sorry I was so impatient. I was just so exasperated when I posted. Baxter had marked the files 4 times. Bernie isn't so back yet, he's not marking inside. It doesn't faze anyone at work. They just call me to clean it up. He started this marking in the house like...yesterday. I'm getting Baxter fixed first, then Bernie, since Baxter is the worst. Hopefully the vet will get him in quickly. The vet wanted me to wait until he hiked to have him neutered, so he wouldn't squat to pee. I think I'd rather have a squater. Hopefully I'm catching it soon enough that this gosh awful habit isn't ingrained in his brain. In the meantime, gotta have a bellyband. Thanks again.
