| Begging for food??? Ok, so Leah has started to really beg for food lately. My daughter just swears someone is feeding her but to my knowlege no one has feed her table food. (she has had "ice cream" from the ice cream shop ) She just goes nuts when there is food around. How do we get her to stop? Needing suggestions! |

| Take a metal pan and bang it with a spoon when she starts begging. I learned this from another YTer and it works

| Tricksie begs but only from her Papa, he does give her tiny bites of his food, and ice cream. She is very vocal only with him, not barking but talking. Glad she only does it to him. I just tell her NO and she stops, not so much when he is here.

| hhhmmmm...well i'm one of those really bad dog owners that feeds her yorkie from her plate sometimes so Pixie begs alot! naughty I know...but I just can't resist her...and she is still very good at eating her own food...she has such a good apetite anyway..always has done...thank goodness with her being so tiny! and I only feed 'good' foods off my plate...like cheese and fish and veggies etc

| same here. I'm one of those bad doggie owners too....LOL..I feed mine also from my plate but they eat their dog food w/o any probs. I can't resist mine either, they are too cute. I usually make them do a trick or a command first before giving up the human food though.

| Well aren't they incredibly smart. Boo and Gracie beg from their Daddy, because he feeds them bites while he's eating. They know they don't get anything from me until I'm completely done. They will keep looking over to see if I'm done, but they stay pretty much glued to DH during dinner. That's because he's so tough and hard-hearted they have to work harder to soften him up...yeah...right...that's it However, somehow they both have decided if I'm blowing on the food to cool it down it must be for them and they'll come over expecting to get some. It really is too funny. Boo will even whine if I don't come thru with a bite.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Ok i am a REALLY bad momma. Whenever we walk around the mall when we are finished we walk by the ice cream machine. And everytime he gets one of his own. (the pure fruit one only!) He will sit in front of the machine and just look at me until i get him one!!! lol

| We crate Chewie when it's dinner time and we feel like eating on the couch. If he's out of the crate, he will literally perch himself on my shoulder in my face and he'll try to inch closer and closer to what I'm eating. I just tell him NO! right in his face...then he'll jump down after telling him about 2 times. Then he'll usually go grab his bully stick or a toy and lay on my feet until he gets brave enough to try again

| I read somewhere that some owners fed their dog straight off their own fork...and now their dog wont eat their own food unless it's fork fed to them...not to mention...I know Chewie's favorite place to lick and don't particularly want that in my mouth....(barf)

| Let me tell you something.......when I first got Mufasa I thought it was so cute how he would sit on the floor beside my chair looking up at me with those big brown eyes and so I just HAD to give him something. I mean he's so precious right? The other YTers who told me not to feed Mufasa because I would regret it didn't know what they were talking about......I mean look at his precious face! Right? WRONG........that precious little thing has turned into a terror at dinnertime or anytime he even thinks someone is eating! roflmfao Now he sits on the floor beside my chair barking at the highest pitch I've ever heard a dog bark and will NOT stop until I give him something. DO NOT FEED THAT DOG NO MATTER HOW PRECIOUS HE OR SHE LOOKS. IT'S ALL AN ELABORATE PLAN TO SUCKER YOU IN!!!!!!!! DON'T DO IT!!!! roflmfao |

| you guys are so lucky the dang people treats don't give your babies the bigD! i might give Edgar some if it wouldn't cause the accidents!! i tell him NO! firmly and he normally chills out. i also insist that no one else give him people treats or food. he does hang around tho after my 8 year old. as soon as Raven moves to put his plate in the sink Edgar is all over that tile! you may have to put him away while you are eating OR you can begin feeding him when you eat. he'll still beg for your food, but at least he's busy for a few minutes! |
