| I have an above ground pool and I would definitely say get a life vest!!!! Mufasa likes to be outside with us and that means IN the pool on a float but he's not too keen on getting in the water. A few times he has fallen off his float and thankfully someone was there to see him and scoop him up. Next year he will definitely have a life vest!!!! |

| lifevest We have a lifevest for Harley. He wore it this summer when we went boating and when we went swimming in the mountains at a waterfall. He really seems to like it and we didn't have to worry about him getting hurt. Also, the lifevests have two straps on the dogs back that work like handles to scoop him out of the water. It is really easy to get him out. When Harley is wearing his, my kids call him the little Yorkie suitcase. I would get one, and wouldn't wait too long. PetSmart and Petco only carry them in the summer. |

| We have a vacation home at the Lake of the Ozarks. Life Jackets are an essential - even if we just let them in a pool!

| I got Sam's lifevest at Petsmart. He wears it when we go swimming at my brothers. Here is a link to some pics of Sam wearing his. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...-swimming.html IMHO, dogs may know how to swim but just like people if they are thrown in, fall in, whatever - panic can set in and they dont know how to swim anymore.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Leo has a vest. I purchased an extra small for him. I found it at PetSmart for under $15. It has adjustable belts to make certain it fits snuggly. He loves to swim and be in the pool with the family, so it definately was worth it.

| We have life-jackets as well.....to use around the pool, canoe trips, etc. We bought a kiddie/baby raft (at a Dollar store) - it has a bottom and higher sides...they like to float around it it..they can lay, sit, stand, etc. --this way, they enjoy being in the "pool" around us, w/o getting wet. We don't let them in the water often, because I am afraid they will some how swallow the water or something I freak out about stuff like that!
