| Fencing Ideas We just bought a house and are closing in two weeks. (yay!) We have quite a large backyard, so I had an idea. Let me know what you think. I was thinking about putting up a chainlink in a smaller area. The back door would lead right out to it. The back of our house comes out in a "L" so I would only need to put up two sides connected to the house. It would be about a 20 x 20 foot area. Maybe a little bigger. THEN, we are putting up a wooden privacy fence around the whole yard. So the smaller chainlink area would be inside the larger fenced area. Of course, she would only be outside with me watching so she could potty or run around. I just think it would be safer for her this way and easier for me to keep an eye on her. Plus, my son could play in the bigger part of the yard without worry of stepping on her. Shes just 3 1/4 lbs right now at 5 months old. What do you think?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think that sounds really smart. These little stinkers can sneak through the smallest spaces - so anything you can do to contain them will put your mind at ease and keep them safe. We don't really let our guys out alone in the yard bc of eagles etc. too - so I don't know if that's a concern - but like you, we've still blocked off any little areas where we think they could get under.

| That is about what I have here, but I don't have the big yard fenced. It has definitely been a blessing.

| That sounds like a great idea. When I bought my house I loved the fact that the entire house was fenced in but I do not like it so much now because when the babies are out...I have 3, they are all over the place so I'm contantly running after them..thank goodness most of the time they play together. Gives me a workout but I would prefer to have a fenced area in the back for them. I'm selling my home now so I know for the next one. BTW Congrats on your new home! Its so much fun to own your home...just don't like the bills behind it...lol |

| I think that would work great for you. We also have a chain link fence that is about 20 X 20. My babies go out the back door, onto the deck, then into their yard. My only fear was the area under the deck, but we put up lattis so now I don't worry about them at all. Enjoy your new place!
