| Adult yorkie or not adult yorkie that is the question So Biff is my first yorkie. We are about to get your second, a female, in a few weeks. I love Biff to death and I'm more accustomed to the maturing cycle of larger dogs because that is what I grew up with. I know it tends to take larger dogs a few years to settle down and allow their true adult personality to show through. I've heard that yorkies are considered adults after the age of one year old (which is how old Biff is). I've started to notice more couch potato behavior over the last week or so and I'm just curious if this is him settling down a little bit or is that wishful thinking on my part? Any tips? |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi Biff's Mama, Beatrice is my second yorkie that I've owned. She is just over 10 months old now and very laid back...already a real couch potato ! I think that this is just the type of dog she is. My last yorkie,Tina, I lost to old age a little more than 4 1/2 years ago.She was a very active little female and I would say that it took her until she was about 2 before she settle down at all.Man, what a difference with this little one.I think they are all just different ,but most are the high energy type. Welcome to YT by the way, I ust joined in July myself. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Roxie is 10 months old and very laid back. I think she goes along with the others who are older and sleeps a lot like them. Most of my Yorkies really settled down by 15 months.

Deegan reminds me so freakin' much of Ranger!!!! I have noticed Ranger settled down a bit right around one year. I thought it might be wishful thinking too!!!
