| "Course Hair for a Yorkie" I took Sasha to the groomers again over the weekend. She got everything done but a puppy cut because I wanted to let her hair grow out a bit. When I mentioned to the groomer (who has worked on her several times before) that I wanted to let it grow she said "well she has course hair for a yorkie." I was a little taken aback by her comment so I didn't really reply to it. But I'm wondering if she meant it's wiry/cottony, because I CAN agree with that descriptive. I know silky is a desired texture but she made me feel like Sasha was "less than" because it's not. Her hair doesn't lay down for very long. It sticks out and she can look very ratty very quickly after some serious play. I've recently switched her to Wellness so I'm hoping that will help to improve her coat but is there anything I can do, or product I can buy to assist in her having a smoother, shinier coat? Here are a couple of recent pics of her. |

| She looks beautiful to me. Some yorkies have cottony hair and some have the silkie hair. I have one of both. The cottony boy I have to oil him up after his bath. I haven't found a pet product that I like, I'm using BioSilk for humans. It works really well.

| Awww thank you. I think the flash might have made her coat lool a little brighter than what it really is. It can look dull sometimes. And wow I use Biosilk on MY hair! It doesn't attract more dirt? |

| Don't let what she said hurt your feelings. Also, I looked back and she is only about 5 months old? If that is correct, then I can tell you she looks great, because mine at that age always looked awkward and they still had puppy coats. Give her another year or a bit less and then you'll know what kind of coat she will have. In the meantime, you can use a good conditioner and keep her combed/brushed and enjoy this wonderful puppy stage. I thinks she's cute as a button!

| I have silky coat and 2 cottons at home and I use Espree shine spray. This works wonders on my cotton coat babie. It also prevents fly away hair. I just groomed a shi tzu this past weekend and boy was her hair dry. I used the shine spray and her coat was so shiny and soft. |

| What a cutie she is. Love those ears. What are you using in the way of shampoo? You can try Pantene and see if that relaxes her coat for you. It does work wonder's on some coats. Be carefull not to get it into her eyes tho. Then use a conditioner, Pantene also. Even a hot oil treatment may help from time to time. It puts back oils into the coat. |

| How can she tell what her coat texture is at 5 months old? I think your baby is adorable! Tammy |

| Yep she's 5 months! She'll be 6 months in 2 weeks. I currently don't use conditioner on her but I think I'll start. When I give her a bath I use Earthbath Shampoo for puppies. Maybe I'll try some of their conditioners as well. Thank you!!! |

| No, I haven't found that it attracts more dirt. I use it too, and putting it on me and 2 dogs, that $25 bottle goes fast! I'm using the Earthbath puppy too. Doesn't it smell wonderful?

| Awww thank you. I guess she was just basing it off of how it is now. I've actually thought about trying a different groomer before she made this comment and now I really think I am. |

I use to think that as well but many here on YT have been using Pantane and the results are amazing. | |

| Yes! I recently bought their wipes in the Mango Tango scent. They smell great but they aren't as moist as other wipes I've tried. But it came in a box of 100 so I'm stuck with it for a while. |
