| I was just the opposite. I was worried about him not barking at 4 months. He was very quiet till about 6 months or so. Now we can't shut him up which can be a good thing in some ways. I would have never known there was a mouse in the house if it wernt for him, or I would have not been able to break up a fight my daughter got into with a local bully before one of them got hurt if it wasn't for Gus. And yes I really love it when he is trying to get my attention when he wants to eat or play. And just like a new baby and having to learn what they want by the different cries. I am well in tune on Gus's many barks and know what he wants most of the time.

| Oh yes I've got a talker alright. He's not a barker, nope he follows me around the house grumbling, non stop, morning till night talking. He has an opinion about everything. I had a yorkie years ago that I taught how to talk as a puppy and she'd sit right beside you and grumble until you paid attention to her but this little guy has decided he needs to talk about everything and anything. He's probably the funniest little guy I've ever encountered. He's from Texas and obviously thinks he is important stuff. |

I didn't think Bo was gonna be very vocal at all until my loud mouth Schnauzer taught him everything he knows!! I'd much rather hear Bo talk! Gosh that Schnau is loud!!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Trace is a talker. He has just recently started barking at unusual noises, but if you ignore him and he wants attention he'll let you know. If you ask him something that excites him, (want to play or have a treat) he'll respond too. I love the reponse, but the thing that really makes me laugh is to hear him howl. I know he's trying to sound big and bad, but that tiny howl doesn't really strike fear into anyone. Everyone (but the cats) just laughs and tells him "oh, you are so mean".

| Deegan isn't a yappy dog, but he does like to talk back when I tell him no. And just like your little one, when he wants my attention he will sit there and bark until I give in. It can be really annoying, especially when I am on the phone or have company. So I have started to use the pennies in a pop can. When he starts to bark and I tell him no, if he doesn't stop I shake the can, and he goes runnin'. He hates the noise.
