| how old was your puppy when you got them I know that the recommened age is 12 weeks but I also see a lot of people getting thier puppies younger. I was just wondering their age and how they did, and if you think they would have done better if you had waited? |

| I got Layla at 12 weeks. Her breeder insisted either 12 weeks or 2 lbs and Layla came home at 1.9 lbs. Any younger or smaller and I would have been way too nervous.. they were the LONGEST 12 weeks but i'm so glad we waited. |

| I got Teddy when he was 8 weeks and he was sick!! I spent 9 weeks making weekly trips to the vet and force feeding him every 2 hours. My new little girl will be 12 weeks when I pick her up in 17 days. I would not get another one under 12 weeks again. |

| I would definitely recommend at least 12 weeks. Cooper's breeder kept him until he was 4 months old, my only issue with him was potty training (because she didn't!!!) I got Baron when he was 12 weeks and he was PERFECT at that age (strong & healthy, but still young enough to potty train easily!). |

| I got Zeus at 12 weeks. Phoebe was 7 months when I got her. Her breeder wanted to keep her, but she was too small for breeding.

| Suzi was 9 weeks when I brought her home. I did not know that this was too young. She was 3.5 lbs. I was lucky that she was in perfect health. Now that I know better, I would not get anther until at least 12 weeks .

| Generally was 6 weeks old and his mother had already weaned all of the pups. The older sister was actually nursing them. He was eating dry food the day we got him home, he would not eat anything else. He is now 9 months old and a very healthy 8-9 pounds and is a very strong pup. He has not had a bad vet report and he was the runt of the litter and just about 1-2 pounds or so when we got him. |
