| When is a Yorkie full grown? When is A yorkie considered full grown? My Yorkie is 6 months old and weighs 5lbs. Does anyone know how much bigger she will get? Is she considered heavy for her age? I did not want her to get any bigger than 6lbs. Is there a chance she will not get bigger than that. Thanks for your help. |

| size She will no doubt level off at 6 to 7 pounds..but since you are expecting at least a 6 pounder another pound or so makes little difference don't you think?? If you had bought expecting a smaller Yorkie, then it would be a disappointment...anything under 8 pounds is really quite small for a dog. |

| I read that the smaller the breed the faster they become adults. So I suppose all would differ if your yorkie were a teacup yorkie, toy yorkie, or small dog yorkie.

| Weight of Yorkies I heard a good rule of thumb is to double their weight at 14 to 16 weeks, and add 1/2 pound. It worked well with my dog. And here we go again: There is no such thing as a teacup Yorkie. All are Yorkies and the smaller ones are called tinies. If a breeder tells you she raises teacups, shy away from her. She should know better. Last edited by mybirdys2003; 01-26-2005 at 10:30 AM. Reason: typos |
